Their pricing was on the high side, but as one of Teslas largest dealers, they committed to installing the walls within a couple of months. Although I found the communication with the sales person to be rather poor, and without any follow-up, the installation was professionally done. The installation team was exceptional, and did a very clean install. The system was thoroughly tested and works well.

Comment: Semper Solaris struggled for a year to install a Tesla Powerwall. They managed through Tesla delivery halts, the very worst of Covid, customer service 500 miles from our home and the installers both, insular Palo Alto regulations, and inspectors who fined them bogus $500. There were many occasions when I doubted they would finish the job because it would be easier to walk away (return our deposit and dont pay Palo Alto fine). It took them a year but they completed the job at the agreed price.

Comment: We signed a contract for 2 Tesla batteries to back up our power. We have 59 solar panels. They were supposed to be installed the following February, but there was a shortage of battery panels coming from Tesla. So we had to wait, but once they were available they were installed promptly and Semper did a great job with the installation! The only reason they didnt get a 5 star rating was because we needed to add a part at the last minute that enabled the backup system to run the air conditioner. I wasnt told about this originally so this added a few hundred bucks to the price. Also, it took much longer than anticipated to finally get them installed.

She got my Solar up and running quick. Communication between Javell and I was nothing but professional. Doing big project can sometime be frustrated but have to expect it. I was pleased that everything could be handled in a package deal with Semper Solaris, and the work went well although it was slowed down waiting for permitting, which was delayed because of covid. But the system is up and working well, and I am pleased with the result. Although there were problems with the roof work, Semper Solaris was prompt in correcting it. I would definitely recommend this company for solar panels and power wall work.

I pulled the trigger in April of 2021, the install happened in September 2021, and we were up and running shortly thereafter. Semper Solaris was good at explaining things along the way, except I feel they could have better communicated how the rebates and incentives would work. Unlike with my solar panel lease (different company) I had to pay full price upfront for everything, and I am still waiting on my incentive payment from PG&E, and well see how hard or easy it is to get the tax rebates next year.

All quotes were in the same price range; however, it was Semper Solaris that stood out based on representation and product.We met with sales rep Robert Cassidy who really listened to our needs and came up with a solution to our problems. He presented us with a roof option to help cool our house and configured our own rooftop solar system to help reduce our monthly electric bill. He didn’t overwhelm us -- walked us through the process and discussed the warranties, incentives, rebates and federal tax credits. After Robert left that evening, my husband and I had already made our decision. We’re both in sales and were so impressed with Robert Cassidy’s knowledge, presentation and integrity.We were assigned to Construction Manager Jose Montes who was our go-to-person from start to finish. Jose’s communication was outstanding!! His team was always on time, worked the entire day and very respectful of our property. Jose followed up on clean up and returned to our house to install our rain gutter guards. The entire project was so well coordinated, went flawlessly and was completed on time. During the process of the removal of the former roof, delivery of new shingles, application of these, everyone involved was very professional as well as courteous. When the workers showed up to replace the roof they did it at breakneck speed and had the roof removed and replaced in 2 days. Comment: A few months back I needed someone to repair my Tesla Powerwall. Whenever I lost power it would not kick in. The company that installed it would not give me the time of day and finding someone at Tesla was impossible. I am talking months. I made a phone call to Semper Solaris and within hours was receiving some help. A gentleman named Manny came to the house and was very knowledgeable, respectful and was able to pinpoint the problem right away. Every person that I have dealt with since, either over the phone or in person, has been extremely helpful and polite. Comment: Shout out to Semper Solaris! John G from Semper Hayward was very responsive and helpful in coordinating the roof and solar work we contracted. Through I was worried during the middle of the process for getting permit approval and constantly contacting them, they were able to work with me and get the solar installed in a super tight schedule before end of 2018! And during the process, there was strong wind and blowed off a sky window pending installation, but they came in Christmas Eve night within an hour and fix it right away. Very strong team.Update: 2020/11/05I noticed one of my panel have lower production. And when I went up to clean, confirmed its shattered. They came out to check a week after we called, and help inspect and confirm the same issue (suspect installation / panel glass quality as its completely shattered). So after 2weeks they sent an technician to help replace within 15mins. Now my solar panel have good production again! Thanks for quick follow up as well. I am glad I went with you guys. I was debating for a while FYI if I should go with Tesla as their panel somehow look better with a guard. Maybe you guys can help add a guard too :D

Comment: I saw a Semper Solaris ad for two Tesla Walls and a very very large Rebate. I applied, qualified, and they sent out a site engineer. Within weeks I had the two Tesla Walls installed and basically am now pretty much off the grid with access to the grid only if needed. The Solar energy that I make now does not go out onto the grid to be sold to the power company for pennies on the dollar, then be sold back to me later for 400% more, it first, every day, goes into my batteries and I can use it when I want to from the app on my phone. I generally run the house and charge the car from the sun in the morning. By one or two pm, the batteries are full from the solar energy. The excess then goes out onto the grid while still running the house and charging the car. Then at 5pm when electricity is most expensive and the sun is low in the sky, I let the batteries run the house all night until the sun comes up in the morning to re-charge them. If there is a power outage, I do not even notice. I have to look on my phone app to see that the grid is offline and I am on battery power. I only know there is an outage because other people call and text me to ask is your power off? I have referred over 10 people to Semper Solaris because I am so pleased with the install and the service.

Comment: We purchased two Tesla Powerwalls We first contacted Tesla, since we have their solar panels for over 10 years. They made it very difficult to communicate and had numerous delayed responses. We then called Semper Solaris and were treated wonderfully. The sales expert was very knowledgeable and thorough with explaining the details. We signed the contract and were on our way. Unfortunately the covid virus shut things down for about 3 months, including our towns permit department. However, the support team and sales rep kept in contact and we waited patiently. The installation team was neat, friendly, and as expert as the rest of the people at Semper Solaris. Yesterday was our first day with the Powerwall system. The Tesla app gives instant information and were delighted with every aspect. Theres no reason why anyone shouldnt consider solar electric power and storage and theres also no reason why Semper Solaris shouldnt be first on the list of companies to help.

They provide you with an excellent document package which makes for a smooth process to get any required approvals. Once we had all of the required approvals, we set the installation date. The original installer (Real Goods Solar) completely flaked out. However, Semper Solaris was extremely responsive in all facets of communication from beginning to end. A very knowledgeable technician, Manny, came out straight away to assess my system and provide a quote. The pricing was good, and they scheduled the installation in short order. Manny and Lionel showed up right on time on the scheduled date and worked efficiently all day long to complete the upgrade. The new combiner box looks super clean and the whole system works great, much better than before (improved efficiency and substantially better monitoring). The service manager, Tony, followed up to make sure everything went okay. Ive dealt with a lot of contractors over the years. After notifying Semper they first replaced the micro inverters on the roof panels and then dug into the monitoring hardware. During that work 2 employees were outstanding.- April Wozniak tracks service guys all over NorCal, from San Diego, and coordinates with the homeowner. She keeps everyone current and comfortable with the process and the field guys seem to accept her over-watch.- Manny xxx the field engineer is a star. He understands the system completely and keeps you informed of what hes doing. He actually arrives on time and communicates clearly about my system and SunPower systems in general. He has to work with SunPower service off shore and knows how to make them respond.He arrives with everything needed already on his truck, a first for trade related workmen. AND hes even pleasant! I hope Semper appreciates him.All in all this service on a system in place for 3+ years shows the character and integrity of Semper Solaris and their employees to be very high.

Comment: After receiving quotes from several very pushy solar sales companies I decided to contact Semper Solaris from a quick Google search of highly reviewed companies, not only was their rep knowledgeable but they did not push anything I was surprised after our consultation he did not offer a gimmick like if you sign right now we can get you the best deal he laid out everything for us and said if we would like to proceed to contact him. This was great because nobody likes to be pressured into a sale with the act now or the price will go up. So besides all that their quote came in almost $15,000 less than other quotes received they also gave me a very nice discount for being a first responder (industrial firefighter) all permitting went smooth and they had our 20 panel system up in a day.We requested the panels for minimum view from the street and they also accommodated that with the best possible sun exposure. Comment: As someone who hardly ever posts reviews, I really feel the need to tell everyone about John G at Semper. I was expecting a super pushy salesman that was going to cram solar down my throat. Instead I got just the opposite! John didnt push anything on us, there was no high pressure sales pitch that I needed to act now or lose out forever. Instead we had a conversation about our needs and what we were looking for. I would say if you are even remotely thinking of going solar, call Semper and make sure they send John to your house, hes awesome!

I had met with five companies, signed contracts with two prior, only to have undisclosed increases and change orders presented as if it were normal and to be expected. Do NOT fall for that as all of these can be assessed up front.As a Vet, I was amazed at the level of service received.From the first meeting with Robert Cassidy, referred from our next door neighbor, it was evident this was the way to go all along. He also saved us $6,000 as we did not need as many panels as what we initially agreed to.The team troops that installed were amazing and insisted on taking extra time to clean up and paint conduit.9 months in and I have a $113.50 credit I need to burn according to Rob before my true up.PLEASE ask for Rob & team if you choose to go with them. Rob came out on the 1st, 3rd, & 9th month to ensure we were on track.THANK YOU!

Comment: Roofing: Semper Solaris quote was competitive and they clearly explained all the processes involved during their first visit itself. We had several questions (via emails) and the sales person (John G) was very responsive and answered all our questions/doubts. We really appreciate John Gs diligence and attention to details. Once the contract is signed we made the initial deposit and they placed the order. They called us back in a few weeks to schedule the work. The working crew was good and the work looks professional. I did claim the roof and inspected myself :). They installed/got the permit and haul away the debris. One of the shingles had a minor damage I called them and they sent a technician who fixed it and reinspected all other areas.

My solar electric system was installed and operable in just 3-1/2 weeks with most of the time being spent waiting for permits. Yesterday, just 5 weeks after I signed the contract, the final approval from PG&E was received and the system is now fully operational. The support staff kept in communication and the initial contact and follow up support by Rob Cassidy was very professional. If there is ANY question about this companys thoroughness and training, Rob is the guy to meet with. We interviewed with 3 other companies and the Semper Solaris bid was in the middle price wise, but the follow up and continual check ins far exceeded our expectations. Comment: Having lived in Califronia my whole life, I always wanted to go solar. Being able to take advantage of the tax credit made this possible. Unfortunately we needed new roof for solar as well. Semper Solaris and Brian O. gave us a great price compared to the rest and naturally jumped on it. The smoothest process from A-Z has been the Semper Solaris Way. Boots on the ground and eyes on the project! Every stage of this project was executed perfectly. Signing us up, site assessment, permitting, installation and final inspection. The final inspection did take awhile but that is out of all our hands(PGE....) Now that the work is all done, the combination of Owens Corning and Panasonic looks beautiful. If you need a roof and want to go solar, Semper Solaris and Brian O is the best duo.

Comment: I initially called Semper Solaris because of their strong support of the military. However the job they did in providing a competitive estimate, sticking to the a construction schedule, always being available to answer questions and performing a quality roofing job, replacing the electrical box and dealing with city inspectors was totally professional.Robert Cassidy our Senior Sales consultant. He has to be the most ethical, well educated sales representative I have ever worked with. Rob treated me like he was selling to is mother, nothing but honesty and concern. I was so willing to buy more panels then we needed. He actually came back out, met with my wife and I, and educated me on why that was not a sound investment, but he would do as we wished. He just wanted me informed before I made a decision. I went with his advise and am very pleased.Offset at 90% of usage, and coming out of summer with a $250 credit I will need to burn by April 2019.My highest praise go our to Semper Solaris and I highly recommend them.

Rob is not a just a sales guy but really has passion for what he is selling and can give you endless resources of information about the product they sell. Anything less then a sunpower panel is just a waste of money. Our install went fine and they went above and beyond with a few extras. After year one we eneded up owing PGE $13 bucks. Not bad. We increased our use alot and almost came out dead even, so great planning on their part. The system was very fairly priced. Comment: After Research, Multiple Estimates, and a Dire Need to Not make a bad decision I found the Company that was Just Right for me. Learning the way different companies explained the types and benefits of Solar taught me quite a bit. For example I noticed that with most companies they pushed the benefits of the Solar toward their prime products while making other options sound less attractive and unrealistic. Then I sat with Rob Cassidy at Semper Solaris. He told me straight about his knowledge of Solar. He taught me the benefits of the different types of Solar plans (Leasing or Buying). His answers to my questions reaffirmed what I knew or already surmised while shedding light on questions I had and/or Negative remarks other companies had said about certain things . Throughout the conversations we had I felt more and more reassured about his Sincerity and Knowledge. I at no point felt that he was steering me in a direction but instead felt that I was being taught the various Benefits of Plans and Products. In the end I felt confident that we had created a Plan that best suited my household with the absolute Best Panels available today(some companies needed way more roof space and panels in order to produce the same amount of electricity). After consideration of All, it was Semper Solaris Hayward for me. The Products, Knowledge of Solar, Warrantees, and Concentration on Integrity within the Company made me feel confident in my Decision.Then the Installation. Thank You Manuel Rios and Team Tango. You were all Reliable, Professional, Hard Working, and Efficient. It was absolutely effortless on our parts. We were amazed at how well the process went. PG&E was taken care of by you all, the panels were put in and Beautiful, and we were up and running quicker than I thought possible. Comment: Ive been wanting to go solar for a long time but never found the right company. Ive had a ton of companies come knock on my door and they all seemed shady and I got a couple of solar quotes before from local companies in my area but they were so different from each other that I didnt know who to believe. After last summers crazy heat and my high electric bill I knew it was time to make a decision on going solar. I called up a friend of mine who worked in the solar business for a solar manufacturer and asked him who he recommended. He told me to call Trevor at Semper Solaris and that Trevor was one of the most knowledgeable people in the solar industry. I called him up and he helped me get my 12 month of energy usage from PGE. He showed me the shade analysis of my home and had me select which roof I wanted the panels on. He then explained to me the difference between cash, PPA and loan and I decided to go with a PPA. I needed to get some roof work done on my roof and they took care of the roof and solar for me. The whole process took about 60 days and it was super easy, everything Trevor told me they would do they did and the timelines and expectations he set from the beginning of the project were met almost to a T. I would definitely recommend Trevor and Semper Solaris to anyone thinking about going solar!

Comment: PROS - Our system is up and running in a very short time! All the people we spoke with were great! The installation happened in 1 day. We are using the most efficient SunPower panels, and our smart meter is running backward during the day now. We are happily watching our SunPower Dashboard. CONS - More communication would have been helpful. We must have worked with 8 different people. An inspection was scheduled without informing us so we were lucky we were home. They typically “email” you (not many texts or phone calls) and each stage of the process is handled by a different person. Other than that we are very pleased and would not hesitate to recommend them to our friends. I would like to have given them 5 stars, but the communication issue needs to be tightened up. Very happy we went SOLAR!!

Comment: Each step of the process was detailed and customer service focused. The sales rep gave background of company, philosophy, explained the process, savings and product (US made), special construction of panels, and warranty. The cost of the project was well in the range of the price of a solar project, perhaps even below. I was assigned a customer service support staff who alerted me of all phases of the project (emails and calls) and followed up after each step. Management also got in touch to make sure I was informed and asked if I had questions. This level of customer care and attention to detail is rare and deserves mention as well as the fact that the cpmpany hires vets. You are one of a kind, Semper Solaris.

Comment: A little slow on passing the permitting, but other than that full thumbs up for these folks. They even compensated the cost of my electric bill for the extended non-operational period while ironing out the permitting. Thanks to Justin P. & Rebekah A. and the various folks on the initial install & followup teams to pull it all together. Transparent with their production assumptions, reasonably conservative, etc. They use Sunpower panels, among the highest efficiency & reliability anywhere (Sunpowers good enough for NASA), with the lowest degradation rate Ive seen with a long warranty period. Panels designed but not made in the USA, but neither is the iPhone (nor any top tier cell phone).Other places go in hard for the sale, like a bunch of used car salesmen, how much youre going to save! 25% off! Buy 3 get 1 free! Half off cost of materials (uh, how much is labor?)! You ever seen an MSRP for solar panels to know whats BS (baloney sandwiches)? Just mind the final tally, and dont let salespeople pressure you with limited time offers, if they raise the quote on you just move on to a competitor. Semper are much better than the pretty darn rotten & slimey company in my look into getting solar a prior year, and the price $2k lower than that supposed best ever never before never again quote to boot.Dont fall for empty promises of production in the sales pitch, if its not on paper/in contract, you dont have proof legally, and CSLB doesnt care beyond failure to operate/destroying your house during installation; output promises not met you have to take it to small claims yourself CSLB say. Take your time, do your own research & calculations to get a trustworthy evaluation of what to expect from a system. Production projections within warranty period ? Check. Panel maker not filing for bankruptcy? Check. Degradation rates supported by warranty/mfr data? Check. Search other review sites, and see not recommended reviews on those sites to see the hidden story of what sellers you might be dealing with, interestingly Sempers average would go up rather than down.If you think you salesperson is giving you BS on system sizing like Doug Spindler claims just go to the pvwatts site by NREL (google it), use their default values and weather for your locale, and your utilities rates (use the time of use (TOU) schedule since nearly all areas in CA are likely under NEM2). I suspect that reviewer either doesnt understand system power ratings or is BSing about getting specd with a system over 2x too large.Although Sempers latest ads offer Tesla power walls, unless you have mission critical continuous power needs, personally I wouldnt recommend. One company touts beat TOU rates with a battery system (yeah just give them the money instead at 29.99/mo or only 29 bucks depending on which BS ad you hear), but with my PGE peak/off-peak pricing differential of 7 to 8 cents/kwh summer, much less in winter, Id need to time shift around 400kwh/mo just to break even. Unless youre running medical equipment or a server farm or suffer fatal panic attacks in blackouts you might be better off getting a slightly larger system (your extra off peak production offsetting a bit your on peak usage), most PV panels lose capacity slower than batteries.

Joshua was the the rep who sold me the system and really happy with the pricing.Rebecca provided an excellent support during the installation process. Lupe and his son really took care of the project to make sure that we were happy with the install.As far as the Sunpower performance, the system has been running since September and it is performing as it should. I highly recommend Semper and Sunpower!

They cleaned up the site and it was done. City inspection found all work was done to Code. They also assigned Billie Yako as our contact and she kept us informed us of the status and schedule of work to be performed. On a change order, they even repaired the roof and found the leaks! Amazing is all I can say of Semper Solaris. I highly recommend them.

Comment: Semper Solaris was great. The whole process — sales, planning, installation, and inspection — went smoothly. They were very open and honest about what was going on. The sales guy talked me out of adding any more panels than he recommended at first, and showed me how it wouldnt be cost effective given PG&Es rate structure. The installation went fine and was finished in one day. And it all passed inspection on the first try, which the city inspector told me almost never happens. I recommend them highly.Semper uses high-end, very efficient, and fairly expensive panels from SunPower. Other companies I got quotes from said that it was better to use more of the cheaper, lower-efficiency Chinese panels instead. But the Semper guys were right when I did the math. Using fewer panels meant they could put them only on the best parts of the roof where theyd get the most sun, giving the system a better capacity factor and saving me money.

We did couple things with them: a 6KW Solar Panel System installation and a Solar Attic Fan installation.The reason I chose them are below:• Their prices were best• Their financing solution is one of the best.• They took care all the paperwork and paid fees related to financing, permits, city and PG&E inspections. I didn’t have to do anything other than signing the contracts.• Sunpower Company strongly recommends them. They were the “Residential National Dealer of the Year” for Sunpower panels in California for 2 consecutive years.• They now operate from 7 California locations including the SF bay Area.• They are a veteran owned California solar company.It was truly a joy in working with their San Diego based sales person David Bell. Comment: I can highly recommend Semper Solaris, Semper just completed our solar project including a partial roof replacement and were very happy with their services. The installation teams for both roofing and solar were prompt, professional and clean. There was always good communication keeping me informed of what comes next. Our new Enphase solar system with battery backup is working great and I love being able to track and see how the system is working each day right on their cool app. When we decided to do solar, I took multiple bids based on referrals from people I know and Semper not only beat the other companies prices, but their bid was more straightforward and clear. Its clear they know what theyre doing. Im a happy customer.
