Comment: My overall experience with installing a new roof in July 2023 was a positive one. The project manager, Ted Figart, was instrumental in maintaining the communication & transparency with my questions/concerns. The project was completed ahead of the proposed schedule, in spite of the damaged wood discovered & repairs needed. The cost of this project was reasonable & the end result was a beautiful roof!There were some minor hiccups, but Ted was responsive in resolving them. The workers were respectful of my property when cleaning the debris, etc., which I appreciated. I would not hesitate to recommed Mark Anthony Roofing to my family, friends & neighbors.

Comment: I am remiss in not recommending Mark Anthony sooner. In March of 2018 they replaced my roof and did a beautiful (and quick) job. In December 2022, I was installing solar panels and Mark Anthony came out to do the roof penetrations so my warranty would stay intact. Again they did an excellent job working with the solar company (Global heating, air conditioning, & solar). When it comes to something as important as a roof over your head, I would absolutely recommend this company

Comment: Mark Anthony Construction and Roofing is a long time quality roofing company. This is the second time I have used them and I have no complaints. I have a tile roof and I scheduled them to redo the underlayment after fumigating the house for termites. There are usually quite a few broken tiles in the process and this way I didn’t have to waste any money on broken tile “insurance”. They also replaced a lot of termite damaged wood. I highly recommend this company.

From our first meeting, they were a thoroughly professional, high-quality operation. Ted was our contact and he was extremely knowledgeable and responsive, providing us with references and photos of completed projects, then leading us through selection of tiles and optional upgrades. He was always available to answer questions during construction and ensured we were completely happy with the work. The crew arrived on a Monday morning as scheduled and completed the entire job within 10 working days. They were polite, clean, and efficient from start to finish. They stuck to their quoted price, which was more than reasonable, even after they ran into unforseen difficulties after they tore off the original roof. It was great to work with such a well-run, honest, established company that takes such pride in their work. Our new roof turned out beautifully, and due to the optional vented upgrade, we are spending way less on cooling the house in the summer months. We truly cant recommend Mark Anthony enough!

Comment: I met Marc Anthony roofing by actually starting a solar project. I found out that I needed a new roof before any solar company would install, then I realize that the roof is as important as the equipment. I met with seven different roofing companies, and Mark Anthony was the only one that actually came prepared with documentation and information that I can understand. They were also the only ones certified by GAG to install the type of shingles that I wanted to have. Their crew came and had the job done in three days, service was exceptional and the crew was polite and courteous the entire time. The level of workmanship also has to be noted also, as they did an excellent job on the corners and the drip edges. If you need your roof done, I would definitely speak to these folks, and I’m willing to bet you’ll choose them. Don’t forget to ask about the cobra jet venting that they do and are the reflective shingles also!

Comment: I am always skeptical with businesses and contractors doing work to my home. I have had a few bad experiences with different contractors. Mark Anthony Roofing is the exception. From start to finish installing a complete new roof went flawlessly. Mark, Alex, and Ted along with the entire roofing crew were communicative, respond immediately, answer your questions, professional, not pushy, the list goes on and on. Oh and the fantastic roofing crew works for Mark Anthony Roofing, no sub contractors. Also, when do you find the best that is competively priced, does the job right and stands behind their product and work and provides that with documentation. Comment: Mark, the owner was totally prepared when he initially met with us. He had samples of materials, copies of the business license/insurance, and a referral list. I liked that GAF listed their company on the GAF website. It helped me in my selection. Alex did a great job scheduling/coordinating the various crews and the city inspection. The various crews seemed to stay on task and were polite. There were a few minor things I would have preferred handled differently. I would have liked having a change order for the minimal extra charge of re-stapling the plywood. That was an additional charge that I found out about on the final invoice. The workers, in preparing for the replacement of a beam, left a large opening from the outside into our attic. This would have been open for days. My husband and I spent a couple hours closing the opening to prevent possible entry of rats/rodents. The crews cleaned up at the end of each day. Most of the days they moved the mess from one area to another area, i.e. onto the grass or into the side area of our front door entryway. They did a more thorough cleaning the end of the last day of their work at our house. However, as I have been working outside, I have found nails, roofing staples and round plastic washers around our yard, i.e. in our plants, flowerbeds, the grass and on the concrete. I would have liked for Mark, the owner, to get on the roof and check his crews work. Im assuming he leaves that responsibility to his crew foremen. Overall, we were satisfied with the work done by Mark Anthony Construction & Roofing, Inc. I would recommend the company to anyone needing a new roof.

Id contacted 4 companies and of those this company responded quickly to any questions or concerns when I emailed them. The crew the first day were several men that started promptly and worked until the old roof was removed. They cleaned up any debris that was scattered around the yard, and were very organized in their work. A nice group of guys who worked hard. I was also very impressed with the many pages of referrals that they gave me, and of which I called 4 people, and all recommended Mark Anthony. Comment: Great job, all the way around. They were not the least expensive of the 5 quotes we got, but we are convinced they were the best value. Their proposal was a straight forward, detailed 2 page doc, unlike several of the others, which were 15-25 pages of graphics and logos with a few of the roofing contract details on every other page or so. Further, the company was quick to get back to us to clarify the few questions we did have, so we felt we knew exactly what we were buying, and what warranty level it qualified for. They followed up on their proposal after a few days, but unlike two of the other bidders, they did not pepper us with emails containing videos and testimonials that we did not ask for or want. Once the deal was signed and a start date was set, the Mark Anthony team was here by the agreed upon start time of 8am, and got to work straight away. Everyone seemed to know exactly what they were supposed to be doing. They cleaned up each night, rolling back their equipment and taking it all away, then blowing off the sidewalks around the house so they were usable. The job took exactly as long as they said it should, and our roof now looks great. Best of all, there were no surprises when we got the final invoice, and therefore we highly recommend Mark Anthony Construction and Roofing.

Comment: This company is top shelf all the way. The price was great never over or understated any scope of the work.licenced bonded insured so no way an employee could ever sue you for an injury. Never tried to bypass the permit/inspection (saving a few hundred at the costs of a bad job not worth it) which passed with flying colors. The inspector even made the comment that its look like the house is new. And it does. Every day they were here at the end of the day you couldnt tell they were ever here. No trash left behind. No construction waste or equipment left for us to hold on to for them. Absolutely nothing bad I can say about bout them. Comment: When it came time for a new roof, we did our homework. Mark Anthony Roofing kept coming up as one of, if not the premier companies to work with in North County, and now we now why. The sales experience was low key, and we were provided a number of options/samples. Mark Anthony, owner, came out to walk us thru the job since it was pretty extensive. Once work began there was always a foreman on site, and the workers showed up on time and were respectful of our property and ourselves; especially given that we were working from home throughout. Once the original roof was removed, we uncovered a fair amount of wood damage. They were fair in their assessment of what needed to be done as well as the additional cost to complete. In the end, we have a high quality roof that looks great and we have no doubt will be the last we have to install. The job required coordination between the roofers, solar installers, and a number of other contractors; all of which happened without a hitch. All of that said, perhaps the most impressive part of the experience happened post install. We ran into a minor issue with a vent that resulted in a repair bill for our furnace. We emailed them, and within a week were reimbursed. Throughout the job the entire team operated at the highest level of skill and integrity, which seems to be a rarity these days and was greatly appreciated. We can’t recommend them highly enough.

Comment: Out of the companies that bid on this job, this company was the most professional and confident people I talked too. They did not upsell/hard sell any add on items and actually said I did not need the amount of ventilation I asked for, I think that is stellar for a company. All work was performed by their employees, no subs! All of their employees were very respectful, cheerful demeanor, very clean, and worked like a well-oiled machine. Their attention to detail in their wood work shows they have experience and pride of their product. They completed, in one week, the roofing along with a lot of wood damage discovered after tear off. Other companies said the job could take up to a month depending what they found after tear off.(they even bring their own porta-potty) I highly recommend this company.

Comment: We first worked with Mark Anthony Construction and Roofing in 2014. Mark came out and spoke to me like a customer without any condensation. His bid was higher than the other 3 we received, but his manner and the warranty is what made us go with him.After signing the contract, we had a rainstorm and the roof started to leak. Mark sent a crew over to cover the area so there wouldnt be more damage. It was awesome.During the same time as the roof, we were adding solar. Mark and Alex worked with the solar crew to facilitate the installation so no downtime would occur and so the solar crew wouldnt void the warranty. His crew was amazing, even covering our pool so no debris would get inside. They worked fast and efficiently.Our experience then was so good that we called on them to replace the roof at my dads. Like before they had to coordinate with a solar company, which Alex handled like a champ. Once again, they did an amazing job.I would recommend Mark Anthony Construction and Roofing to anyone needing a new roof. Theyve been amazing to work with! Comment: Excellent experience on a complicated residential roof (multiple slopes and additions, working with a solar contractor). Anthony roofing was punctual, performed the project on time and on budget. Their crew was a pleasure to work with. They knew what they were doing and were easy to interact with (e.g. they asked questions on how to match the fascia when they were not sure what we wanted and provided thoughtful recommendations). The quality of the job was outstanding, with the longest warranty we could find in our area and at a fair price. I now understand why many people said this was the best roofing company in San Diego, I wouldnt work with anybody else anymore.

Comment: Very big evolution for us getting a new roof on our old house. Mark and his team were absolutely great. We got caught up in the recent rains and they did a great job keeping things moving. They were the middle bid out of 3 but I saw high levels of satisfaction on reviews and, as it turned out, Im now one of them too! We are happy. Now time to paint :)

Comment: We had Mark Anthony Construction and Roofing install a new tile roof to our house on Penasquitos Canyon in San Diego. The company was referred to me from a friend whom I consider to be very discerning and rather picky. The work included new roof flashings, attic vents and repairs to the wood fascia. They started work on the exact start date given to me well in advance, and although I was gone when the work was performed, I heard from multiple neighbors that the workers were extremely organized and instilled confidence from the neighborhood. I can definitely recommend them!

Comment: I am extremely pleased with my new roof. The crew finished early and on budget - how many times can you say that! Owner himself came to look at finished job the following week BEFORE I paid. Again, this is a rare experience with contractors. Marks and Alexs first concern is job quality and your satisfaction. After I shared my OCD clean-up requirements, Magdeleno and his team worked hard to make me happy. Not one scrap in pool. No damage to plants. House was basically like they found it, but even better with a beautiful new roof! I am thrilled!

Comment: I don’t often write reviews unless I believe a company has truly earned my time, whether good or bad. That said, my superlative experience with Mark Anthony Construction has earned my time; here is my experience:I requested several quotes and selected Mark Anthony Construction based on several factors. First, it’s hard to compete with a company that has more than a 40 year track record in the area, in my opinion. Second, the warranty was one of the best quoted. Most were 10 years or so, so the 25-year warranty on labor and 50 on materials is pretty amazing. Third, their quote was competitive, and was only underbid by companies with little to no history in the area, so I was willing to pay a little extra for peace of mind. I’m glad I did. The roof looks great, the workers were very professional and considerate, and any questions or concerns I had were immediately addressed by Mark or Alex. This is certainly a company that cares about their reputation in San Diego and cares about customer satisfaction. I highly recommend Mark Anthony!

Comment: Mark Anthony roofing and construction is beyond stellar. From estimate to measure to instal to clean up Mark and his crew were on it. Mark arrived at our house on time each and every time and his staff is impeccable with timely responses. When they said they were going to do it they did it. No babysitting!!! We had 7 companies bid out our roof. Yes, 7! We were on the fence with solar/roofing companies to just someone to do our roof and another company to install solar. Mark Anthony knows roofs. He was one of the only estimators to come out get on our roof and look at the problems. I don’t need a sales pitch or the entire family present for your videos, I need someone who knows how to do the job. My family and I felt comfortable with the crew each and every step of the way. We honestly missed them when the job was complete. We love our roof, love the product (gaf), love the attention to detail of each step. The guys took their time and even went above and beyond. We have been at our house for 4 months and have done Sooooo many projects. I wish that each company and crew we hired were as straight forward and knowledgeable as Mark Anthony.
