They know their stuff, they don’t do the standard “we recommend you hire someone else to inspect this further” thing most inspectors do to pass on blame.They also can see stuff that’s hidden because they know the signs and I live that they point them out to teach me. I feel like I am being a great inspectors myself from learning. I can spot dry rot, termites, and section 1 now! 😂They show up on time, give a price for the job and can do repairs quick. I love them for inspections

Comment: About five months ago my wife and I bought our first single family home in Hayward. HomeGuard performed the initial home inspection and found minimal issues with our home; However, as soon as we got the keys we found a missed termite colony and broken tiles that led to a leak in our kitchen. HomeGuards general manager promptly sent someone out to inspect the alleged missed termites, and found that they did indeed miss the termites. Homeguard paid for 66% of the cost, which my wife and I thought was far better than full cost ($3,000). A few months later our window started leaking. We also used them to fix parts of the roof that were noted on the home inspection report. A few months later another part of the roof began leaking. They sent a technician out who immediately stated that a water test would need to be done to determine the source of the leak. I was a little hesitant as no real inspecting was done, but I wanted to get it done. The next day they had someone come out and before doing the water test they examined the roof. It was found by visual inspection that the roof had 2 cracked tiles with no underlayment. As it was going to the rain the next day, I asked if they could put new tiles on. They said no, but could provide a temporary patch until it was rescheduled. While on Vacation HomeGuard was able to replace the tiles at a very reasonable price, and give my vacation some peace knowing that the roof would not leak.In short, I would use HomeGuard for repair work, but inspections are not a strength of theirs. Still worth five stars due to customer service, quick scheduling, and great pricing.
