Comment: I hired Garvey to do an inspection regarding a leak. The roofer was professional, showed me his insurance credentials, and checked and photographed the area and the whole roof. The result is the roof is sound and an unusual wind blew rain into a vent but the sealant is intact. He was professional, safe, thorough. He did not try to create unnecessary work. I would like a dentist like him.

Comment: We discovered a water stain on our living room ceiling a day before a rainstorm was forecast. I called Garvey Roofing and to my surprise Nico was able to come out the same day to inspect my roof for leaks. The other roofing companies I called couldnt come out for more than a week and some never returned my messages. Nico found a couple places on the roof where he suspected the water might be infiltrating and patched them right then with sealant. He even went the extra step to put shingle granules on top of the patches to help them blend in. We were very fortunate Garvey Roofing was able to address the issue so quickly because that next storm was a big one, and only the beginning of many more storms we had this past winter. Nicos patches did the trick, and weve not seen any evidence of a leaky roof since. Thank you!

Comment: This is the second time Garvey roofing came to repair my roof and did it for FREE. Thomas Garvey also inspected the rest of the roof and said it is good for another 5 years. He did not push for a new roof like other roofing companies. He took the time to explain the cause of the leak and also offered other options to address the issue.Mr Garvey recommended an acrylic coating of the flat roof area to resolve the leaks. The price he quoted was reasonable. They came to perform the coating as promised. Their working standards were very professional. They clean up after the job and didn’t leave any debris behind. The office staff called and followed up with the job.Recent heavy rainfall was a good test of the job performed. NO LEAKS SO FAR. I will wait until winter comes and the rain season to give them the real test. They guarantee the job for 5 years.Definitely will have them to maintain and repair my roof in the future.

Tom also did a roof inspection for me prior to having solar panels installed. Comment: Had several roofing companies look at small project to seal my porch roof where it joined the wall of the house. Others told me it couldn’t be done or didn’t want to bother. Garvey came out right away, gave me a fair price for the work, followed up after the estimate to see if I had questions/concerns then completed the job in a timely way despite weather delays. Comment: We had them do a roof repair and inspection after heavy rain revealed a small leak or two. They provided a very frank, honest discussion about what we needed to maintain the roof post-repair (ourselves) and fixed the problems promptly and quoted a fair price. Ive gone up for unrelated reasons since they finished and can say they did a thorough job: not only were the issues fixed but everything is resealed better than it was during the initial installation.Id recommend them to anyone.

Comment: I contacted Garvey Roofing in late March to get a quote for a new, flat roof. I didnt have any leaks or damage, but had been advised that I need to replace my roof in the next year or two. I called Garvey one afternoon, and he came over that day to inspect and provide a free estimate. After taking a look at my room, he shared that I didnt need to replace a full roof, but instead offered an alternate option that was less expensive and a better service for my needs. The office staff was very professional and Niko came out to assess the damage, then he provided me a written quote. By this time I had quotes from 2 other contractors and while Garvey roofings quote was similar to that of the 1st contractor, I decided to go with Garvey Roofing because they kept their word - they showed up and completed the work as scheduled. Comment: I appreciated everything about this company.My garages flat roof was leaking into its ceiling and into the walls. There was ponding in the garage floor.The estimator inspected the roof prior to evaluating the work and giving me details of what the total replacement would entail. Essentially, a total redesign of the roof and the water flows was necessary.(Other estimators did not inspect the roof, but gave a square foot estimate based on the garage footprint. To me, they had no idea.)The estimate was very reasonable.The crew was very efficient and personable and finished within a few days.The subsequent storms we had proved that the work was correctly done.

Nico, who helped me with my most recent service request, is very professional, great at what he does and most importantly, honest and trustworthy. Fortunately there was no major issue with our leak (just one tile got loose by the wind), after fixing the problem (securing the loose tile), Nico patiently explained the situation and anything that i need to look out for given the excess rain we had this year. overall very happy with Garvey roofing and highly recommend the company.

Comment: Tom was extremely helpful and honest about my roof condition. I was requested by my Insurance company to reinstall new roof in order to renew my home insurance. Tom came and inspected my roof and told me that my roof condition was actually good enough for next 10 years. Tom was nice to provide me with a letter of roof certification for free, which made me successfully renew my home insurance. I actually consulted with some other roofing companies, and all of them did me a quote for replacing with new roof. None of them honestly told me that then real condition of roof, except Tom.

Comment: If you have A/C Heater in a one unit on the roof it may need maintenance from time to time. Sealing the contact edges that are embedded into the roof. There is a condensation port on the unit, its a drain port for the A/C it really drains water created and leaks onto the roofing material it may create a leak by going into the under layers of the roofing material.Dont underestimate clean craftsmanship for cheaper labor, Garvey Roofing owner is a true local pro and expert in his business.Not a home advisor nonsense paid ad vendor but a local hero.The repair was done over 5 years and looks good for another 5. Comment: I love this guy. My mother in law had a leak and one contractor said she needed a whole new roof and then Tom came by and said no, its just one hole and patched it. Used him for a property I manage which had moisture issues inside and he came out and looked at the roof and told me nothing wrong with it the prior roofer did a perfect job your problem is elsewhere and did not charge me even when offered. He keeps talking himself out of work but I do see him doing roofing jobs around the area.

Comment: Garvey Roofing was recommended to us by a good friend who is the former city inspector of Monrovia; a guy who’s seen hundreds of construction and repair jobs of all types and thought highly of Garvey Roofing. We had a leak between our upstairs laundry room & adjoining balcony and downstairs dining area. Garvey Roofing’s representative diagnosed the problem immediately. But here’s the kicker. Rather than recommend a costly repair ripping up tiles and carpentry that Garvey Roofing could have performed, the honest and thoughtful technician recommended we put up an awning and forego expensive work. All this even though he and his company could have profited. More of this please: contractors who know, appreciate, and respect historic houses and those of us who live in them. Highly recommended for square dealing with the added high regard from a qualified & experienced city inspector.

They dont last.Within two or three minutes after meeting Tom from Garvey Roofing, at my home I could tell he knew exactly what he was talking about.I had done my due diligence on the type of roof modifications I thought I needed. Comment: My family is still glad that we had Garvey Roofing repair the large cracks on our roof and around the roof pipes. Tom is very professional and a nice person. He explained what needed repairs. After fixing the cracks around the pipes, they used a paint compound that matched our roof color, leaving it nicer than we originally had it. The pricing is fair, and they left the job very clean. Our home had no leaks from these recent rain downpours, and that also was proof of their great roofing skills.

I had previously called other roofing contractors who were unable to fix the problem - sometimes with the leak coming back the next time it rained after they patched the roof.
