We couldnt be more satisfied with the professionalism and the quality of work provided.For our home a foam roof made a whole lot of sense. Not only does it provide insulation, keeping what you want in and reflecting the suns rays back out keeping it cool, there are no seams to worry about, one continuous surface to provide lasting protection. The roof is also lighter than the tar and gravel we had before. When the gravel was removed literally tons of weight were removed from the roof, doorways that stuck when you closed them now open and close freely.Being environmentally conscious we worked with Gus, Alex, AJ and the team to prepare the roof for solar. The team installed solar stanchions for a new solar array installation.All in all, we couldnt be more satisfied with our choice to go with Gus, Alex and team at Foam Roof Solutions.

Comment: My husband and I are very happy with our new roof from Foam Roof Solutions/Advance Foam Roofing.During hot weather, the temperature in the house, even with the windows open is at least ten degrees cooler. Before the foam roof, the temperature indoor was higher than outdoors by several degrees. I am hoping to see the same dramatic improvement when it gets cold this winter, although I heard that it is not usually the case. But I keep my fingers crossed and will update my review later this winter.We did a lot of researches before signing our contract with Advance Foam Roofing. I first learned about the foam material itself and the application procedure. We wanted good insulation for our poorly insulated Eichler style house. I should rather say the insulation was inexistant. We wanted to preserve the exposed beams look inside so it made sense to put the insulation on top of the roof. We had a tar and gravel roof in good condition and the only thing needed was to remove the gravel and apply the foam on top of the tar layer. Our chimney had a small side leek that led to dripping water in the garage during the heavy rain conditions we had last winter. The roofers coated the base of the chimney with some foam and the same coating applied to the roof and it should now be totally water proof. One more problem solved!We read reviews and got quotes from different foam roofers before choosing Advanced Foam Roofing. I believe we made the right choice. Advanced Foam Roofing’s contract was the most comprehensive for the price. The communication with Gus and Alex was easy. They responded to text messages, phone calls and emails promptly. We had solar panels installed as well which required some coordination because the stanchions (support for the solar panels) need to be put in after the gravel is removed from the roof and before the foam is sprayed on. Advances Foam Roofing handled all communications and scheduling with the solar company efficiently. The solar company told me they didn’t encounter the same communication problems and delays they sometimes experience with other roofing companies.I hope this helps potential customers in their decision process. We love our new roof!

Very satisfied with Advanced Foam Roofing (AFR) and the decision to go with foam.With Californias new normal of summertimes rolling blackouts, soaring energy prices, and because rooftop solar does not pencil out for my home, foam roofing became a strong candidate for replacement of my 33 year old roof.Wanting to do my homework on this roof type that many or most of us are not familiar with led me to Gus Hunt.If you are considering foam roofing, but on the fence, you definitely want to speak to this guy. Gus has his own separate company from AFR. Google foam roofing Gus Hunt to read his bio and get his contact information.After considering my alternatives (which in addition to foam included membrane or tar & gravel) and by speaking with Gus on several occasions, I confidently selected foam as the correct direction for re-roofing my low pitch roof.I started with 5 Bay Area foam roof company candidates. Narrowed it down to the 3 most experienced and most highly regarded firms.Pricewise, of the 3, Advanced Foam Roofings bid was in the middle of the pack.I then narrowed it down to 2 companies for their competence in interacting with me and ability to support the project properly. I removed one from the list for several reasons, however the most significant reason was they do not employ their own carpenters for handling/prepping work on fascia and soffits. They instead refer you to find a 3rd party or use one they sent which was a no-go for me. A roofer must stand behind the work of the entire job so this was a deal breaker for me.I met face-to-face at my home with my two top companies.After meeting Alex (President/Owner of AFR), and learning his direct personal experience in spraying and knowledge/technical acumen in roofing, as well as his obvious pride and commitment that his company install a high quality product (and deliver a great experience for the homeowner), I knew AFR was the company I wanted working on my home.Ask Alex (or even grill him) about his experience and the techniques and materials employed to reroof a home. Materials, techniques and skill levels for foam roofing DO vary between one firm and another. Alex is 2nd generation in his family doing foam roofing and highly credentialed (technical courses). With his sons also working along side, this looks like its becoming a 3 generation foam roofing family.Advanced Foam Roofing has a small crew that regularly work together as a team. They did the pre-roofing carpentry, the property prep, the roof installation and the cleanup to my complete satisfaction. Their work ethic and commitment to quality was demonstrated throughout the 4 days they were at my home.Alex and his team were supportive of several Special Requests I made. They planned in advance for these requests, came prepared, executed without a hitch. Advanced Foam Roofing completed the job per agreed upon schedule. The crew is courteous, meticulously cleans the property every day before leaving.How do I like my new roof? Its Amazing! Temperature regulation is phenomenal. The insulative properties of my foam roof are orders of magnitude greater than the incremental improvement I achieved with blown-in insulation to my attic and south facing walls.After cooling my home in the morning, during the recent hot spells the temperature change inside my house over the day was a maximum of 8 degrees I used my Air Conditioner only twice and for 30 minutes. Im seeing lower energy usage, was very comfortable during our heatwaves, and am anticipating a longer lifetime for my AC and heating systems.Bonus!! an unexpected benefit ... foam roofing blocks outdoor noise. My home is much quieter, which at first seemed strange!This was a great investment in my home and I picked the perfect company to work with. Yay!

Comment: Gus, at Foam Roof Solutions was nothing but professional throughout this process. My roof installation took over a year to coordinate due to us trying to synchronize obtaining permits for solar and installing the standoffs just before the new roof was to be applied. Unfortunately we were hoping to get it done in spring of ‘22 but the permitting process took too long and by the time we had the permits, it was too cold and rainy. Gus was patient throughout. Fortunately Gus contracts with a company called Vally Foam Inc. here in the Sacramento area and Harry was also a pleasure to work with. They fully understood what it was I was trying to do and the need to time both the installation of the standoffs and the roof just right. When dry rot was found, Harry referred me to a nice guy named Brandon who was able to install the three sides of facia and fix a few of the soft spots with new decking for less than what Valley Foam would have charged.My installation happened in May. As it would have it, May and June were very mild months. Nonetheless, on even an 88 or 90 degree day, the ceiling in my home is no more than 1-3 degrees warmer than what the thermostat is set to. Prior to the reroof, my ceiling would have been 85+ on a 95 degree day. Now it sits at about 76 with my thermostat set to 75.My uninsulated garage roof decking was 86 degrees on a 106 degree day. This means I can actually work in the garage even on the hottest of days. Before, my garage would have probably been 100-110 on such a day. Since my garage is attached, the added efficiency is significant. The two walls shared with the livable space is so much cooler now.You cannot go wrong with foam and you cannot go wrong with Foam Roof Solutions or with Valley Foam Inc. I can’t recommend them enough.

As I am outside their service area, I reached out because I needed professional advice regarding an issue that arose related to installation of solar on an existing foam roof so that I was prepared and informed to work with both my solar installer and roofer. Comment: We have a Mid Century Modern rancher with a flat roof, built in 1950. The seller put a new tar and gravel roof on before we bought the house in 2009. Every rainy year since the roof leaked. The roofer dutifully supported the warranty and promptly repaired the roof until the next rain/next year/new leak in a different place. Rinse and repeat. Stressful and exhausting. Time for a change.After researching and deciding a foam roof was our best option going forward, our options were limited to about 20 companies in the Bay Area that worked in our area. We interviewed and got quotes from quite a few and discovered many of them were shady and dishonest, spending their time telling us why the other companies were crooks and why they were the last honest roofing company. They werent, and red flags came up over and over again.So we kept searching until we found Gus Hunt of Foam Roof Solutions (The Fixer) and Alex Jimenez (The Maestro) at Advanced Foam Roofing. Gus handles the business aspect and Alex the technical roofing, though Gus is very knowledgable and technical. Part of the issue finding them is that although Gus and Alex are super experienced in the foam roofing business, they dont have the 20+ year history with their current company that some of the more well known companies have. Both Foam Roof Solutions and Advanced Foam Roofing are relatively new companies, so to find and vet their experience we had to dig a little deeper. Turns out for our roof, they really were the only choice. Heres why.Alex Jimenez has over 25 years experience with commercial roofing, which tend to be more complex than residential roofs. Our house has plumbing, electric and HVAC penetrations on the roof so is more like a commercial building in that regard. Many of the companies we interviewed wanted us to remove the HVAC system (at our cost) so they could spray the roof. That wasnt going to happen.When I met Alex and we went on the roof to discuss the job he knew exactly how to handle the complexities, without any undue burden or extra cost to us. We hit it off immediately, I trusted him and we got on their waiting list to get our new roof. They were booked out a few months and we were hoping to get it done before the rains started. Fortunately the foam roof was installed mid October and we were ready for the full frontal assault of the atmospheric river monster storms that have been pounding the Bay Area like we have never seen before!So how is the roof holding up under this onslaught you may ask? Very well indeed after three massive storms. No problems whatsoever at this point. Its so nice to not be stressing about your roof leaking over you head while you are sleeping. Comment: I hired Gus and Alex and their crew to install a foam roof over an existing torch-down roof on our flat roofed house.They turned out to be the most competent, professional contractors I have ever hired. Gus explained exactly what I could expect and how and when things would be done. Alex always let me know when they would be there and what they would do and they were always on time. It was clear that Alex has done many, many foam roofs and he and his crew knew exactly what they were doing.They had to coordinate with a contractor installing a solar power system at the same time. That installer proved to be very unreliable, often canceling schedules at the last minute and showing up without necessary parts. Gus and Alex accommodated every curve the solar people threw at them, adjusting their busy schedule and even helping the solar people with temporary solutions when they didn’t have the right parts. I must have called Gus 20 times with questions about how to handle problems with what the solar people were doing or not doing. He always answered and went out of his way to help find solutions, even calling the solar contractor several times to help sort things out.I can’t say enough about how competent and professional they are. If only other contractors were even close.

Not only did they arrive on time, they were incredibly nice and helpful in trying to diagnose the problem.It was very clear they are very knowledgeable about roofs and roof leaks. They are a family owned business which serves the SF Bay Area.A previous roofer I had come to inspect my roof, and he didnt say anything about where the potential leak could be. Instead, he said I should just replace the entire roof. Whereas Alex was extremely helpful and told the truth that the roof was absolutely fine. And that The potential water intrusion was coming from the vertical wall and the flashing.I really have not met a more friendly and knowledgeable service professional than Alex. Comment: My mother’s home is a tract house built in the mid 50’s. With a tar and gravel roof, it’s a hot box in summer and difficult to heat in winter. It needed some repairs to prolong the life of the roof, but not wanting to spend the money and dreading another hot summer, I decided to replace it now. I got 4 or 5 local estimates. No one would replace the tar and gravel and most intended to use a rigid insulation which covered only the living space. A friend referred me to someone in Petaluma who had similar problems, and who, through his diligent homework, had decided to use Foam Roof Solutions.I called Gus Hunt. Our original conversation was extensive and informative. I found Gus to be knowledgeable not only with his product, but others in the industry. His patience and clarity made understanding what I was to expect easy. No pressure, just information. I appreciated that. I agreed to meet Jesse Jimenez from Leak Busters Foam Roofing Company, the contractor who would do the actual re-roofing. Gus introduced my husband and me to Jesse and his core crew at the house. Jesse explained the steps and timeline to complete the job. His estimate was well within reason, and the full 2 inches of foam sealed the deal. The one other foam estimate I had initially gotten was for 1½ inches and was more expensive.The roof has been installed. Throughout the brief process I had questions and concerns about various situations. Gus was the liaison who was easily available, listened carefully to my issues, and helped resolve them. Jesse was conscientious in his attention to detail; he was concerned that the system be installed properly and was in no rush to finish when the weather was less than desirable. The crew worked efficiently and the grounds were left in excellent condition.The last two days have been in the high 80’s, and while this is not yet the test of summer, the house would have been warm. Comment: We moved into our low-slope Eichler style house back in September of 2020. The sellers let us know the rolled paper roof would need to be re-done soon, and during a heatwave where our house got to 95 degrees, we realized that having no insulation or crawlspace was going to be rough.We researched roofs styles, and learned that a spray foam roof would give us the insulation and water-tight requirements we needed.I contact 3 companies, and all were great; responsive, answered questions, etc. All were within 5% in total price as well, and the way they would install the foam roof was fairly similar.I ended up going with Foam Roof Solutions because Gus was the most responsive, along with answering all my questions. He put me in touch with a solar panel company (which we ultimately decided not to do, but it was still extremely helpful) and the thing that I remember most was Gus saying I want to do the roof right, the first time, so you are happy, we are happy, and you dont have to call us in the future.Gus had his main guy Alex come over a week later, Alex crawled up on the roof, looked at our roof, the sky lights, everything, and then we talked about how the roof installation would go, including asking me questions about concerns I had (drainage, we have our fiber internet cable on the roof and how they would handle that). He said they would be able to start in a month or so, so we paid the deposit and happily waited.A week later, Gus said they had an opening to start, which we happily accepted. Alex and his team showed up promptly, told me that the weather was perfect over the next couple of days, and got cracking.In 2.5 days, they got our roof completed. I really appreciated how thorough they were, making sure to cover outdoor furniture, and cleaning up.The morning after the foam roof went on, I immediately could tell the difference. Typically our heater kicks on at 6am, to warm the house up to 65 degrees. That morning, didnt need to, the house was already at 65. As the day went on, it was a clear sunny day, and that usually means our house will get to 75+ degrees, regardless of the actual temperature outside. The house stayed right around 68-70 all day. Perfect.Alex and his team were awesome. I would come outside every once in a while and ask how things were going, and they would tell me what they just did and what they were working on. They even removed the old DirectTV satellite that I totally forgot was on the corner of the roof, since we arent using it anymore.Alex said theyll stop by in a few months, take a look to make sure everything has settled properly, and Gus let me know to contact him anytime if there is a problem or something looks off.Great company, amazing work, and the best pricing of the 3 companies I contacted for quotes. I highly recommend Foam Roof Solutions along with Advanced Foam Roofing.

Not being familiar with foam roofs, they are extremely foreign not only to me, but as well as other roofing companies. I called Gus to get some insight from a company who understood foam roofing. The previous roof had leaks and was rusting, so this turned out to be much easier than replacing or repainting the entire roof. Comment: We bought a mid-20th century home in Sacramento a few years ago, partly because we liked its flat roof design. The roof surface itself obviously was in need of attention, with many areas experiencing minor cracking and peeling. I thought we could do some DIY repair and maintenance over time but came to the conclusion that we needed pros. Finding the right flat roof professionals that served our area was not easy, however. Thankfully I finally ran across Foam Roof Solutions on the web and met with Gus Hunt. Gus was informative about SPF roofing like ours and the foam roofing industry, and put us in touch with his lead SPF contractor, Alex at Advanced Foam roofing. Alex also spent time with us evaluating our project, answering questions and understanding our needs. After discussing options and a little negotiation we agreed on a plan to restore and re-coat our SPF roof and extend the foam roofing to cover our metal patio roofing. This also included some minor reconstruction to replace rotten joists, install multiple skylights and new flashing. From the day we first met to discuss our project to final completion, owner Alex and his crew were organized, patient, concientious, polite, tidy and professional.Thank you Gus and Alex!

Comment: Alex and his crew did an amazing job repairing the blisters and re-coating my roof. He was onsite from beginning to end making sure everything was done to the highest standards. 12 years of blister problems and two contractors companies later, it was a great relief to see Alex carefully clean, remove old foam, fill, coat and recheck the roof several times. He communicated well throughout the job and it turned out great.Know this is a family run business that takes pride in doing a good job.

Comment: My house had particular issues, roughly 15 yards long of additional flashing that I knew I would need installed, plus other details that needed special attention for solar panels going in. I got 3 quotes on everything. The proposal I received was much less expensive than a name-brand roofing company. The 3rd bid was roughly the same price but it omitted the flashing, so that was a win right there for Foam Roof Solutions.On the job, the workers were very skilled and detail oriented, coordinating the early steps of the work with a solar contractor that I also got through Gus. The coordination was perfectly smooth, and I think it reallly helped that they had done this before, with multiple contractors climbing up the same ladder.Everyone was easy to get along with and when the roofing job was complete the place was tidy. I have only limited attic crawspace for insulation (which is also in process) but I already feel the insulating value of the foam over the roof deck was a good step toward making the house more comfortable - on hot days the house does not become an oven. Plus, in the end the roof even feels stronger, I feel less vibration when I walk than with the original roof

Comment: My existing 7000+sf foam roof was in pretty bad shape with significant surface cracking and blistering. It was 22 years old and had one re-coat as well. Other foam roofing contractors refused to bid on restoration and would only quote for a complete re-roofing.Foam Roof Solutions took on the job with a 15 year warranty. They were courteous, on time and on budget. The roof looks new again, ready for many more leak free years. Very happy with the cost and avoiding the environmental impact of a complete re-roof.

Comment: I found Alex at Advanced Foam Roofing through Foam Roof Solutions They were very responsive to my request for a quote. The quote was quite reasonable and we were able to schedule the job at 5 weeks in the future. Alec and his crew showed up on schedule and completed the work in 2 days. Alex and the guys were very easy to work with and handled my many questions in a very professional fashion. The finished job looks great! I cant wait for it to rain and to have no leaks after several years of tarps and buckets every winter. A truly GREAT experience.

Comment: I had a wonderful experience with Alex Jimenez of Advanced Foam Roofing. First and foremost, Alex did everything as promised and when promised. The team was pleasant, polite, hard working, and cleaned up as they worked. Alex was on-sight the entire time. My job included the need to schedule with a solar company and when they (the solar company) changed their plans Alex went with the flow without complaint. He kept me apprised every step of the way. And the roof! Wow! Foam looks great, my house is warmer, and I look forward to never having to deal with it again. I thank you.

Comment: I am a residential customer. My shallow pitched roof needed a complete rebuild. This was a small add on room 12x14. Not many companies would handle a job this small. No problem for Foam Roof Solutions and subcontractor, Advanced Foam Roofing. Alex Jimenez and crew (family) showed up early as agreed and essentially completed the job in one day. Work done: remove two courses of concrete tile on three sides ( not one was broken in the process), remove old rolled roofing and deck, remove and replace one rafter and ceiling joist, install new deck and metal flashing, install new gutter, apply closed cell foam roof and topcoat. Replace concrete tiles, Apply layer of closed cell foam under deck. Apply exterior paint as needed. The job came in under budget. How often does a contractor do that?I would award 10 stars if possible. Competent, professional, on time, honest, thorough, reasonable. Very, very, very pleased with Foam Roof Solutions and Advanced Foam Roofing.Definitely hire them for your Foam Roof Solution.

Comment: We have a flat roof and we have always experienced issues with leaking. Gus from foam roof solutions talked us through the benefits of getting a foam roof vs what we have always done. We are happy with our decision to go with foam roof solutions and contractor Brazos Urethane for our new roof. Customer service was amazing from both companies. Couldn’t have been happier with the communication and follow through. They went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied. Highly recommend if you need a new roof!!!!
