The solar is generating the expected kWs we had originally planned for. I have a lot of confidence in the product and any potential follow-up needed over time.Iiro Yrjola did our initial project discovery, providing bids, project initiation, etc. … all the way through follow-up post installation. Comment: These guys really honor their warranty and take care of stuff. They provided a warranty for a roof on a house that I had purchased. The roof had a leak during El Nino season and these guys came in the next day to take care of it. During Hurricane Hillary there was an open vent that was never removed and water was getting into the garage the very next day the guys came and checked it out found the problem and scheduled with me to rectify the vent leak the next day. They were always able to fit me in and address my issue within 2 days. Im not saying this is a realistic expectation but this is my experience and I would recommend working with them.

They installed everything while we were away for a trip and left a clean house when finished. They also added key vents in more ideal/efficient positions. From the moment we were introduced to them through Jimmy, we were impressed with the quality of their work and professionalism. Jimmy was super helpful and communicative throughout the whole process, and despite setbacks from record rainfall we got our panels installed before the NEM deadline. Jose and Christian did great work on the installation itself, and the entire roofing crew did a great job modifying the section of our roof where the panels were mounted by installing shingles, and later framing the panels with our concrete tiles. He was very informative about the models and the differences between the price and value of each brand. I had previously consulted with a different company about getting a very high-end UV ray-blocking glass. I explained to Ian that I was very much in love with that product. Once he explained to me the differences between the glass and the cost benefits, I was shocked. The other company really increased the price over a small difference. Have you ever heard of a contractor recommending a less expensive alternative? This enabled seamless coordination when BB installed my new Corning TruDefinition Cool Roof and my SunPower Solar panels. Also, all sales/installers are employees. Thus, no sub-contractors or coordinating roof installation with different contractors for solar. BB was all inhouse making my life simple with their excellent communications inhouse and to me.Mike Magiera, my main contact, was very knowledgeable about all the products and installation. He was very patient, taking considerable time to understand my requirements – current and future. He listened and answered my many, many technical questions explaining each in detail. Mike was extremely responsive in person, by text and phone. He is a professional, good communicator, and very courteous. Mike took videos of my roof to verify and explain why replacement was required. Some small things were important to me: Mike was willing to accommodate covering my drive, balcony, window box and allow me to keep to classic cars in the garage & lastly not taking down the gutters to install the roof.Mike always went above and beyond the call of duty. When I texted a pic of some small roof flashing issues, Mike was at my home asap and got up on the roof, fixed the flashing issues and even painted the visible areas! (I had the matching paint). Panels were put up quickly and the only delay was getting the city to come and inspect. Once that was done the panels were hooked up and they’ve been generating power. The cost came in just a little above the estimate because we needed to replace some plywood.

Comment: Build Brothers quoted me for re-shingling my roof, and I was delighted that their quote was way better than all the other companies that quoted me. I did not intend to purchase a solar power system, and they did not try to hard sell me. However, I was curious as to what their pitch was so I asked about it and the sales rep, Ian, gave me the straight scoop. I had door-to-door sales persons from other companies come around in the past and they could not intelligently answer my questions. Ian, however, was extremely knowledgable and answered everything superbly. My interest was piqued enough to inquire about the price. Surprisingly it was extremely affordable, especially when packaged with a roof re-shingle. I took the leap and am glad I did. Originally, I thought it would be several weeks before they could work us into their schedule, but Ian called within a week and asked if we were ready to start the project. Installation was professional and well done. Top marks all around for Build Brothers.

Comment: I sat through three or four solar & roof presentations and these guys won my business hands down! They did 15 Sun Power panels and a lift and relay on my roof for a price no one could touch. Their workers were friendly, clean, timely, and went the extra mile on a few things that they technically didn’t have to do. Janice was my advisor and she was excellent too. Her low pressure and pleasant approach was ideal for a project that can get very expensive and stressful at times. Byron, the owner, was a stand up dude and jumped in when ever I had questions or concerns. This company is the best and I highly recommend them if you want high quality work at a price no one in town can beat.

Comment: Had to deal with this company indirectly as the homeowner had the property management company replace the roofing. The roofers came out and did their thing but in the process somehow knocked down the power to most of the home. After 2 frustrating days with minimal power, Ian the owner, along with his electrician Allen came out to see what was causing the issue. After testing a few things they were able to pinpoint the issue. Turns out the property management company had hired some contractor that did a bad job putting a light fixture in the bathroom. After Allen grounded the fixture (like youre supposed to and how it should have been done initially) the power issues stopped. Unfortunately they also had to replace the breaker as it had gone bad due to the power issues. Although Repower Solar and Roofing were not the cause of the issue, they were the last ones on the property when the issues started happening and thus took it upon themselves to find and fix the issue. Ian and his crew are great even in situations in which something has gone wrong. Ian will make sure everyone is happy. Thanks again Ian and especially thanks to Allen for his great work ethic and determination to finding a solution. Thank you.

I received an estimate from them to review along with the others that were submitted. What I appreciated was the follow up from their representative, Janice. She reached out to me to follow up on the proposal, none of the other companies bothered. I knew that if and when we encountered any problems she would be there to deal with them. We found them through Yelp and were impressed with all of the great reviews -- and they definitely deserve them.Janice provided incredible service to us and was available for assistance whenever we needed her. At one point, we texted a question to Janice and she provided a prompt answer. We then found out she had been out of the country at the time but still took the time to answer us.The quality of work seems to be top notch and I didnt notice any leaks during the odd summer storm we got in early September. Were also loving the fact that we can blast our AC and not worry about all the time of use billing that SDG&E is pushing everyone to.The workers were all very friendly and worked quickly to get our project done. The crew heads always took the time to explain what they were doing and what we should expect.When we first signed our contract with RePower, we were scheduled to have the roof installed several months out. However, they were able to push our install forward a month, which allowed us to get our solar up and running prior to the September heat wave we always have.Dont get me wrong, there were a few hiccups along the way (e.g. some woodwork missed above a rafter or a scheduling snafu.) However, replacing a roof and adding solar is a major project and whoever you choose to do your project doesnt know your home like you do. To me, whats important when something gets missed is that the company is responsive and quick about resolving the issue, and thats exactly what we got with RePower.I guess the bottom line is that Ive heard a lot of horror stories about switching to solar and about contractors in general. As a new home owner, I very much appreciate that I didnt have that experience with them.

The organization of this company is complicated and it was hard to figure out whom I was dealing with much of the time. The orignal salesman for the job, never returned my emails or phone calls and I had to look up the license of the company to find the man in charge. After that communication worked better.

The weather was not cooperating with needing a new roof. Byron sent a guy immediately to put a protective tarp on the roof until they had an opportunity to put the new covering on.
