Comment: I just had my new roof done by Spartan Home Services. I was so pleased with the work. They were so organized and very efficient. I watched every step from ripping off old shingles to the finish. They had such great team work tossing the old shingles into the dump truck. Good job! When the new shingles were delivered they worked hard getting them put up before the rain came. They were very clean and thorough. You couldnt tell anyone did work on my property seeing how clean up was so clean. Spartan did an Awesome job and I want to say Thank you so much!! Comment: The county inspector approved the work yesterday, the roof ladder was picked up today, and so ends my experience with Spartan Home Services. Selected from Angi™ I met with a total of 7 different companies for roof estimates. From the first estimate-visit with John, to my daily contact with Brent while the roof removal and installation was being completed, I have to say I have absolutely no complaints. The crew of roofers did a fast, professional job and cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. They were also careful not to damage anything along the sides of the house. From start to finish, both John and Brent were consistently prompt in replying to my questions to help me understand the process. Brent was genuinely positive, upbeat, professional, courteous and had a genuine concern for my satisfaction that far exceeded my expectations. I will recommend Spartan Home Services to everyone I know.

Comment: Hugo and his crews replaced our roof quickly and professionally. During the day they kept the trash on the ground to a minimum and left a spotless work site at the end of each workday. They discovered & repaired hidden damage, replaced damage flashing, rotted trim, missing drip edges and worked with me to install a vent for future plumbing needs. Hugo was also very helpful with answering of my questions and seeing that I was satisfied with the work.

Comment: Just had our roof replaced by Spartan Services and they were a wonderful company to work with. Our forman, Hugo, and the roofers made quick work of the tear-off and were out the next morning installing the new roof. Since the roof wasnt completely covered, they sent one of the roofers out on Sunday to make sure it was at least water tight in case of rain, which it did early the next morning! 2 more days later and we had wonderful looking roof. Through out the entire process Hugo made sure to address any questions we had, make any changes we asked for and had a few cosmetic issues we had. If we had it to do all over again we would definitely have Spartan, Hugo, and their workers do it all over again. We highly recommend Spartan!

Comment: Spartan Home Services recently completed my roof. I just want to say thanks to Mitch Silva for being professional and responsive. Mitch went above and beyond to help me complete the roofing project. The accounting department Tess and Amy is nice and friendly. Communication with the office staff is not too good. Mitch is my go to guy and he answered all my questions. He made it happened. Honestly, the Spartan is really expensive and it took them a long time to complete my roof. I waited 3 1/2 months until they started working on my roof. Lucky it didn’t rain during those months. They finally came and finished the work. The roofing work seems pretty good. Hugo and his crew did a good job. Hopefully this roof will last 25 years as they promised.

Comment: Spartan Homes Services completed re-roofing my house after removing (and then reinstalling) my solar. There was a lot of dry rot that had to be removed as well, which I was aware of before they inspected the property. Every employee was professional and curious. Both Robert Thurgood, the Roofing Supervisor, and Steve Follett, the Consultant, quickly addressed every one of my questions. The work was fantastic! Spartan also installed some much-needed skylights over my south facing patio which I love every day! Amy Lopez at the office was also very efficient and friendly as well.

Comment: I recently had a reroofing work performed on my home by Spartan Home Services between 08/02/23 through 08/05/2023.Hugo and his team of 6 were able to start two days earlier than the scheduled start time.The demo team arrived early on 8/02 and had the demo of the roof done by 8:30AM. Hugo’s team then came in and started to work on the dry rot. They did report an issue to me with the roof and let me know of the additional cost. They stayed until around 8:00PM.The second day the came in early and. Got to work fixed all the issues that were with the roof, and started to lay the new shingles. By the third day they were finishing up and wee done by 6:30PM on 08/05Hugo’s team did an excellent job on the roof and it looks great. I would recommend Spartan Home Services , Hugo and his team to work your roof.

He answered all my questions with a smile. The only thing I would recommend is better communication when scheduling the roof install, getting an email saying we will be there in a day is not sufficient time to plan for roofers to be at your home.I give HUGO 5 stars and Spartan Home services 4 stars due to poor communication during the scheduling process.

Comment: Spartan Roofing was 1 of 6 estimates I obtained. I had 2 recommendations for GAF products & a certified installer. John won my favor with his lower estimate & brought me samples to choose a color. He also helped me replace broken, leaking tiles before my job could be done. Due to ongoing rain, Nov-April, another leak occurred and a 2nd roofer was sent to do a more extensive valley clean-out & tile replacements. Jose was very easy to work with and kept me informed of most needed changes, per initial inspection. Jeff, the Project Mgr, came to my aid when I had to reschedule final inspection. I failed to have my new smoke, CO sensors installed in my bedrooms, before inspection. My home was needing updating. Jeff came over and personally installed my alarms for me. Many thanks for this last minute job! Feeling blessed no job injuries and the attention to detail I received. If I did anything differently, I wouldve covered exposed areas to falling debris. Overall, job well done. I would work with Spartan again.

Comment: Today I had a consultant from Spartan home services name, Mitch Silva. He came to my home on this rainy stormy cold day and went up on the roof for an inspection. I was so pleased by the clarity of the pictures from my roof, which showed the exact damage and repairs needed to be done. I was so impressed with his thoughtfulness and his professionalism. Mitch then asked if he could have access to my backyard because he saw that some of my gutter was clogged and ask if he could take a ladder and unclog it for me.I had another inspection previous to Mitch coming to my home, and they never said anything about my clogged gutter. I am going to use this company to replace my roof. It was an act of kindness that meant so much as I am a senior living in my home. service is everything so I want to thank Mitch for doing such a little thing that meant so much and cold rainy weather.

Comment: As like any home owner, it was on to my next home improvement project and for me that was to add a new roof and solar. I talked with some friends and colleagues about their experiences. I contacted several companies to get an estimate but only one was easy to schedule an appointment.John Hughes dropped by a day earlier than expected and he was very friendly and easy to talk to. We got to know each other a little, what I was looking to do, what he had to offer, etc. He went on my roof to check things out and then came into my home with the types of roofs they have.I loved the charcoal color and John called to make sure if they had any in stock. Sure enough they had enough for three more homes so one would be mine. John then discussed me with how solar works and answered all of my questions. He also went outside to look at my fuse box and answered my questions on future projects I had in mine.John did not pressure me into a sale and I appreciated that. He was very open and honest with me on what they could offer me. He also gave me a great offer. Come to find out a few months later the price I was sold on was far more superior than what one of my colleagues was recently quoted on through another company.As time went on during the projects, I had to get some clarification on the roof and solar so I contacted John and he responded quickly. I appreciated that.Thank you John for everything. I am very happy with how my roof looks and the solar panels too. I have been given great compliments on them.If there was one word to describe John, it would be this word we used a lot in the Air Force...outstanding. If you are a military veteran then John is definitely the guy to talk to. Even if you are not, ask for John anyway. He will take excellent care of you.I remember on day one of the roof work, there were about six workers on my roof as they removed it beginning at 7:00 AM. They were done by 11:00 AM and another group of workers dropped off the new roof and its materials.The new roof was completed on its third day.The solar was soon installed along with a new fuse box. I am just waiting for SMUD to make its final inspection so I can turn on my solar and see how it works for me.I also want to say thank you to everyone who were helpful with their excellent customer service: Megan Boysel, Rebecca Henkel, and Jeff Tilford. There are a few others that I cannot remember their names but the guy who installed my solar was awesome too.If you read this far then you will know I am very happy with how things have turned out. Comment: We recently had our roof replaced by Spartan. It was a large roof with 3 chimneys and over 20 solar panels. They worked efficiently and seemed to have their act together, from the salesman to front office staff to actual roofer and solar crew, to project manager Jeff. Everyone was attentive to us we felt comfortable throughout each phase. Brad, the main roofer, needs special praise as he is a true craftsman who is very conscientious about his job. That is very important in my opinion. The entire job took about 2 weeks and we are very satisfied with the end result. We have had many compliments. We are planning to add an additional dwelling unit and will be asking them to do the roof. I would highly recommend.

Comment: Re-doing my homes roof to MY satisfaction is a big project, and Spartan did an outstanding job. I do not give high praise easily, so my recommendation really means something. First, a whole day was needed to remove the Decra metal (looks like tile) and original wood shake roofs from my home and the asphalt shingle roof from the detached garage. The tear-off crew could have been more attentive with regard to the faucets near the house. Dry rot wood was replaced with primed lumber. I greatly appreciated that the lead roofer CONFERRED with me about various issues that came up--around the HVAC, skylight framing, and a low corner--and we came up with solutions TOGETHER. A custom sheet metal cricket had to be manufactured where 3 roofs come together, where previous remodeling connected two previously separate structures. Two chimneys—one brick and one stucco-- had to be flashed. The drywall repair to my vaulted ceiling was beautifully done. There are always situations and problems that crop up on significant construction projects. The important thing is how the contractor and homeowner work together to resolve them timely. Spartan did an excellent job with regard to the roof installation and followup work.

Comment: I had to have the complete roof redone. 34 squares the price was not the highest or lowest from my bids solar removed and put back on was 8400. Roof was just a few dollars from 40k. After I got past the shell shock I was ok. First off all John did an excellent job of selling me the roof there was not one bit of pressure from him. Very professional. He was always there for my questions and concerns even twice when he was on vacation he gets a 10 stars in our book. Next is Jesica that works at the office she was always keeping me informed and sending emails and keeping everything on track and very professional also and courteous and when problems came up because of Tesla not Spartan she was johnny on the spot fixing and rescheduled everything. Jose was the Forman/project manage here and he kept everything moving very nicely kept me informed of how the work was going walked me around showing me and telling me everything when they removed the roof nobody could of known but 25 more sheets of plywood was needed and he told me before he did it. I respected him for that since that is extra money I hade to pay. Jose was always first here and last to leave. I don’t know what he is paid but he needs a raise. I did call Jose a project manage because we never seen or talked to our appointed project manage Jeff until it was done and time to collect the money. Jose took care of his job in my eyes.The roof looks beautiful. Finished 3 days before it rained. Great job. Went above what I was expecting which quality workmanship. I also chose them because I wanted a warranty and permitted which the do. If I could pick something bad the only thing I would say is the people they contracted to place the shingles and tigar paw material on the roof. After they put it on the roof they were putting it around the roof to lay down. There was 1 guy that would through the material on the roof and it sounded like the roof was going to cave in. It wasn’t but it did sound like it. My wife went out to tell him to please don’t throw them. They said they don’t speak English and laughed at my wife and contacted to do it till they were through in a couple hours. That was truly the only unpleasant thing we experienced.I would highly recommend spartan home service to all my friends and family. Comment: The Atmospheric River storm caused some leaks in my 25 year old roof. It was time for a completely new one to be installed. I met with six different roofing contractors and Spartan had the best combination of experience, skill set for the job. Our house had solar panels that needed to be removed before the roof could be done. Spartan was one of a few companies that did the removal of the panels in house. I did not want to rely on another company to do that as wanted to make sure all the work was as coordinated as possible.Spartan did such a great job on the roof, that we have decided to have them replace our old less efficient solar system with a new one. Beginning with John Hughes, the man that came to my home and gave me a quote that beat 3 other companies. John wasn’t wearing a fancy suit he was dressed very casual but I liked the guy right away even before he gave the best quote. John made me feel very at ease he was genuine and a great listener. I liked John so much in fact if his bid had come in as high as the others I would have gone with Spartan.It took the Spartan crew less than 2 days to completely remove 3 old roofs and replace even the plywood. It was absolutely amazing how well these fellows worked together. They were all very in sync with each other. Very profession and courteous and efficient. We even had a leak spring up in the time we decided to re-roof and when they could get it done and they rushed out and tarpped it off for us in the meantime.
