They were horrible and after a monthslong process and ZERO completed, we almost had to sue them to return our money and cancel the project.Chris and OC Solar stepped up and took on the project. That meant, trying to get the NEM 2.0 transferred over. Which thankfully SDG&E allowed, due to our situation.OC Solar went from start to finish with such professionalism it was amazing. They stayed in contact every step of the way. Everything went exactly as it had been laid out to us. We are now permitted and up and running.We cant say enough about OC Solar. Comment: I wanted to share my honest experience and was encouraged to do so at the businesss request when I was asked to write a review.My process started in Jan, sadly at that time I was working with another individual who was not on top of it and made several errors. If you had asked me then it was at a 1 star. At the brink of canceling my contract I was notified the employee had been let go and I was immediately contacted by Jesse who took over the case and made every attempt to remedy the situation.Thats when my experience changed to a 5 star. Jesse kept up all his promises. As a frustrated customer he met my needs and with no excuses asked me to allow him to try to fix it. He kept his word and met his promised deadlines. Because of that I am giving them a 5 star and hope if anyone who is frustrated contacts this company and asks for Jesse!

Comment: Highly recommend OC Solar. Diligent team and excellent Customer Service.OC solar coordinated our re-roof and installed our solar system. There were scheduling issues in the beginning when I signed in mid-July, but the team really kicked it into gear and did the re-roof and installation by the end of October/beginning of November. The process was pretty smooth and I was kept updated as the project progressed.Each on-site person I had contact with was very professional and polite and explained the details very well. The clean-up and painting was very well done and neat. The city inspections passed without issue and happened within a week of installation for roofing and solar. The head on-site person (Jose) kept good contact and let me know of a small issue with location of the battery. He made sure it was relocated due to a small measurement error that might have affected inspection. Panels are very inconspicuous and the roof looks great!All questions to customer support staff were answered to my satisfaction and within a very reasonable timeframe. To be fair, customer support was lacking back in July/August, but they really stepped it up during our project in October/November. I think they worked out the bugs so older negative reviews are likely not as accurate now.Based on my experience, I will definitely be recommending OC Solar to my family and friends.

Comment: 100% Recommend. Amazing Service and awesome Customer Care.I needed to Add Solar Panels to my existing Solar Installation. I had quoted out from multiple different companies but OC Solar came out with the best quote with exceptional warranty of 25 Years so I went with them.The Rep helped answer every single question I had about the Initial Process and my new Solar patiently. He never called or emailed me to try rushing me. He gave me plenty of time to research before deciding to go with them.They helped with with the bank to get qualified and setup my initial Pre-Installation Consultation. After Consultation they took around a month to get a installer out. Installer was very professional and finished the installation within a day. After installation they called me on my phone and helped me setup the Tesla App and also informed that happened during the installation. They had some issue with Tiles and they said they will replace it and also color the Piles from the new Solar installation.Next day they setup an inspection with the City which was in 2 weeks. That happened Yesterday. The Installer came early Morning to help color the new Pipes for the Solar and also Brought new Tiles to replace the Broken ones on the Roof and also left few extra tiles as well.Everything was really amazing and they always kept me in loop. I had another Friend that used the same company and same exact experience.

Comment: My wife and I decided it was time to tap into solar energy. After extensive research, going through the process, and finally having the solar panels installed – I’m able to provide feedback to hopefully help others with this important decision.I contacted six different installers and realized factors such as pricing, financing options, and customer reviews made it even harder to decide because they were all similar. The one thing that stood consistent with OC Solar was the responsiveness of their sales rep., Benjamin Soza. Without naming their competition, some companies I’ve had to cycle through multiple sales reps because they would either complain about having to make changes to their estimate or simply because I had too many questions. Benjamin Soza made himself available at all hours of the day and made sure ALL of my questions and concerns were addressed. He also explained that if at any time during the process I wasn’t getting the response I needed from other departments, he would go up-to-bat for me – that he did. He is the BIG reason I decided to go with OC Solar.After signing the contract and committing to OC Solar, Benjamin proved to stay true to his word. Benjamin followed up with Financing for me after a few weeks of ignored emails and phone calls from them. Experiencing something similar with Engineering, Benjamin jumped in again. Comparing the recommended panel placement and what I saw with my naked eye from shade on the roof, I had concerns that I wouldn’t be getting the best ROI. Their software didn’t take into account surrounding buildings and trees that would pose a problem until that was adjusted on their software. Benjamin made the adjustments and worked with Sergio Figueroa to determine the best solution which I was happy with. From there, Benjamin kept me posted on the remaining phases of the project and with the help of Jesse Raymond in Permitting, they were able to get all the requirements from the city to move forward with the project faster than I had expected.The panel installation was completed today and the job looks great aside from a few visible scratches on some panels that they will be taking care of. OC Solar will work with SCE and the city for final approval.To me, having a sales rep that understands the importance of customer care throughout the process is HUGE! Benjamin Soza went above and beyond my expectations and people like Sergio Figueroa and Jesse Raymond who worked behind the scenes also proved to be very valuable. Elizabeth Haygood also played a vital role in communication especially with upper management and Derek Barraza, Director of Project Management, made himself available to address my concerns. Even though I based my decision on one person, the whole company went up-to-bat for me. This is why I’m glad I chose OC Solar. For what it’s worth, the project was completed well before the estimated time they provided. Thank you, OC Solar.

You don’t have to evacuate any day. They send an inspector, email the big plan, you look over and approve or question, all cleared then then installation, another guy comes out to hook you a solar control box, you keep track of your usage through an app if you’d like. It was clear as day, brief as wind, easy as wow.

From the design of the solar panels to the thorough and thoughtful analysis of my energy needs. Based on competitive pricing and superior product we made the decision to go with OCS – and very happy we did. We were kept informed throughout the permitting process and when finally ready to do the solar install, the crew showed up on time and ready to go. The solar panel installation was clean and while the equipment certainly takes up some space they mounted everything as unobtrusively as possible and painted what they could to match the existing stucco. Any problems, issues or questions were addressed immediately and with the goal of providing the best service and the best solar system for my needs.The real test came recently when Edison shut down power for a few hours for maintenance. With the exception of a few very non-essential items shutting down I not only had full power but was still charging my batteries – even on an overcast day!!! Comment: Even though they are small, They did a nice job, clean and fast, also they have the best panels in town, panasonic ev 370, performance of it is going to be 92% after 25 years, also they are providing warranty for 25 years for everything and financing is great 2.5% apr!!!Update:I was happy with the service that I got from OC solar but the recent events is changing my mind. I have paid two months for the solar mortgage so far but the solar has not been connected.The first event was that miss management of getting permit from PWP before fire department which still ongoing and has not been resolved yet.In addition, the email from the PWP permit was not replied completely and I am still waiting for getting response from you on PWP request on Still need Building and Safety solar permit released to PWP”.The images from the breakers and installation I took it myself to speed up the application process but still I dont have any timeline that when these issue will be resolved and I will use the solar energy.Update: after talking to customer service they agreed to compensate solar mortgage for two months untill my permit is issued and solar is connected,Very professionally handlled the situation

Comment: This company has been great! They came through in every way possible. I had my panels installed and running as promised by December 2020 before the Federal tax Credit amount went down. I have had my panels for well almost a year now and they are fantastic. Every person I spoke to throughout the entire process including the owner was profession and friendly. Anyone who stepped foot on my property to complete this job was of the highest quality and knowledge. No trash was left behind all the work was completed within a day or two and if the company said they were coming or having something delivered it was done as promised.I had my inverter installed inside my garage and let me tell you the whole that they cut into the wall is pretty big but not only did they install the inverter quickly but they filled in the wall and painted it to match the exact color of my exterior paint. You would never know that the inverter and electrical panel had been switched out. I was AMAZED!!!!. Also, this company goes above and beyond. Not only do they monitor my system 24/7 they come out and fix any issues they see right away. My system has never stopped producing but there was a time when it wasnt reporting back to them and I had no idea. Well they came out the very next day they saw the issue and it was a Sunday and had someone checking out the inverter to make sure everything was up and running correctly. Then on a different occasion the maker of my inverter Solar Edge sent them out to give me a new updated Wi-Fi dongle. There wasnt any issues with the old one but the company just wanted me to have the newer faster one just because. I thought that was so awesome that the manufacturer and installer work together to keep my system in the best condition possible. Oh and by the way anytime they come out its always free. I havent had to put any extra money into my system not once.My electric bills used to be about $300 in the summer and about $150-200 in the winter and now every time I check my Edison bill it says they owe me money. I can not believe how much I have saved since. If you are thinking about getting solar DO NOT HESITATE! it is worth it in every way and then some and this company is the company to go with hands down. I live in Fontana Ca and they came all the way to me from there office and made sure they checked every single thing and made sure the process was done smoothly. They contact the city for inspections and permits and handle everything in between. I can not speak more highly for this company they are the absolute BEST!I have 10.89 KW system with 33 Panasonic panels and that thing is a beast! it covers the electricity for my entire 4 bedroom house and then some. I dont think I will owe any money to the electric company for a very long time. Thank you Orange County Solar you all are so amazing, keep up the fantastic work!

Comment: Orange County Solar HAS DONE A GOOD JOB OVER ALL:Orange County Solar (OCS) is the only reputable Mobile Home Solar installer I could find in Orange County.All interactions were professionally handled by OCS. The project took from 1/7 through 8/10, which seems about right.Due to availability issues, the planned Battery was upgraded to 16KW at no additional cost. This is much appreciated.Good communication with Ashton reassured me on my coach’s rafter support for the PV panels installed.BUT there were a few shortcomings:The battery rebate communication was not good enough. To their credit, they are working with the folks at SGIP to get it done.Several install dates and appointments were rescheduled, one was missed. This was only bothersome and did not affect the final systems quality.OCS told me Permission to Operate (PTO) was issued for my system on 6/26; PTO was not actually done until 8/10. This was partially due to the battery upgrade. Against my general rule, I made the final OCS payment 6 weeks before the job was complete.The Solar Edge system management app given to me (thank you), requires an API key to manage KW data use. OCS did provide me the key after some time.

Comment: We used EnergySage to find them, but the reality is that we watched them do an installation down the street on our neighbors house, and it looked really good. They were quick and clean, so we felt confident going with them. Things took a little longer than expected-- they were very busy-- so we missed the 2020 tax credits, but the system was installed and activated in a reasonable amount of time, and its now earning us credits on our electric bill. I met with many vendors and eventually selected Vince and his team because they were reasonably priced, communicated thoroughly, and offered strong service.What I valued most was Vinces communication. He and his staff were quick to respond to questions and inquiries, especially during and after the actual installation. I also appreciated that Vince shared his opinions and recommendations about system decisions. Our installation took about 3-4 weeks to complete from start to finish.I would highly recommend working with Vince and Orange County Solar. I selected them among the many solar installers in Orange County because of the very timely and competent response to Internet inquiries and competitive quote. Instead of scheduling a marketing interview like other companies, they supplied all of the information I needed and completed the contract over the internet. I got just the details about the equipment and installation with no sales pitch. This saved me time and Im sure saved OC Solar the cost of sales people. Installation time estimates were a little optimistic but the end product is aesthetic and so far reliable. The installation crew was consistently friendly and hard working. The installation is just what was promised aside from a few delays due to nation-wide shortage of some components.

Comment: I interviewed over 12 different solar companies - Vincent stood out from the rest because he didnt try to sell me on how crappy other companies are but instead he made me felt very comfortable on what his team can do for my solar needs. Other companies spent 80% of the time bickering about their competitors, which is a total turn off! They were quiet, respectful, treated my roof/house like their own (they didnt bang their ladder against my wall/roof for their installation). The connection from one side of the roof to the other is extremely neat. Aside from stress-free solar installation - I want to thank OC Solar for staying competitive on prices, which was an important factor for me to decide.

Looks like we are never going to pay a utility bill again, and since installation we bought an electric car to boot!I picked OC Solar because of Vincents (Vinnie when you become friends) great responsiveness and competitive pricing through the quote process. For quotes we chose a large national firm, a small local firm, and consider OC Solar as an Orange County regional size. Hands down Vince responded to us more quickly, acted more professionally, and quoted competitively to earn our business. OC Solar also completed installation in less than 3 weeks.We were very concerned about financing, and he connected us with San Diego Metropolitan Credit Union which offers a 12 year loan package secured by the solar installation. Vinces electrician also came back a week after completion to install a 220 dryer plug for a new electric car charger.Now we are happily monitoring our solar production on the SolarEdge microinverter and inverter technology, and we are very happy. I thought my findings might be helpful to you.After speaking with Vince Curcie from Orange County Solar, analyzing his proposal and taking careful notes, I could see that I should give his quote extra consideration. It really stood out on my spreadsheet. The O.C. Solar program seemed to look better in all the important areas – even pricing which too frequently is not the case.As I got closer to my decision and talking to Vince a time or two more, I became convinced this was the best product, it was a firm I was totally comfortable working with and (thankfully) the best price. I engaged them to install my solar system, a new electrical panel for my house, a charging station for my electric car and a monitoring system to keep track of my electricity production.I am so glad I did. Working with Vince and his crew was a great experience. They did everything they said they would and explained the process to me as it unfolded (design, permits, inspections, installers, electrician, etc.). They came through with high marks in every step of the process. My system is now up and running, putting out great power and Vince has even come back out to help get me up to speed with using my power output monitoring system.I could tell early on that Orange County Solar would be a good firm to work with and I was right – start to finish and even after the finish. I interviewed several vendors the first and second week of November and all of them except for Orange County Solar could not guarantee that it could be done by 12/31/2017.Orange County Solar had the best pricing of the vendors I interviewed and Vincent, the owner, promptly returned my emails about cost, material and plans even over the weekend!I did not get my HOA approval back until 12/08/2017 and today 12/20/2017 I have a completely installed and inspected systems running!The Orange County Solar crew did a fantastic job and their attention to detail was superb. I could not be happier. But they did such a great job I had to give credit where credit is due. If I could I would give them 6 star since they delivered what said and when the said it would be done and did a fantastic job.Vincent is very personable and knowledgeable about the solar industry and kudos to him on his work effort and attention to detail.If you are thinking about getting Solar in Orange County you should put him on your list of prospective vendors you interview.

Comment: I wanted to express what a great experience I had in contracting Orange County Solar, to install my solar panels. About mid-April I decided I wanted to go solar and also wanted to have them installed before July 1st. If I had a working system before that deadline date, I would still get in on the Net Metering 1 program, which would be more advantageous to me, the homeowner. I also decided I wanted to get a good solar loan to finance the project. I contacted 5 companies using Yelp as a guide. Vince Curcie from Orange County Solar seemed to have the best answers to all my questions and I felt that he was very honest and forthcoming about detailing the whole process ahead. We discussed the advantages that LG panels have along with Enphase micro-inverters. His price for the project was the best among the companies I contacted. Vince helped me get a great loan through the San Diego Metropolitan Credit Union. The loan is for 12 years, has no fees, 5.49% simple interest, no pre-payment penalty and can be amortized once during the term. The other solar companies didnt seem as interested in helping me in obtaining a loan. The permiting process was very speedy. The 16 panels were installed by a very nice and obviously experienced crew in just 2 hours. The City of Huntington Beach inspectors came out and after a few minor details were ironed out, the system was ready to go. The whole process from my picking OC Solar to completion only took about 3 weeks! This, despite the fact that Vince was extremely busy with many other projects, with all the customers trying to beat the same July 1st deadline. Vince also set up the Enlighten monitoring system, so I can keep track of the performance of each individual solar panel by using my smart phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. Im very happy so far with the performance of the panels and am looking forward to great savings in the future. I was very impressed by Orange County Solar throughout the project and their young owner, Vincent Curcie. I whole heartedly recommend his company to do your solar panel project!
