Comment: Finally! A roofing company who didnt try and sell me something I didnt need!! I am the HOA board president for my complex 3 story townhomes, 8 units in whole. We had the entire complex termite tented a while back and the buildings were too tall for the termite company to take on the repairs. Every roofing company that came out said we needed a new roof. Some just looked from the ground and at the termite report others flew a drone over. The complex was constructed in 2008. So, I found it hard to believe a new roof was necessary.Chris Gallardo and his team came out and got on the roof to give an honest assessment, like I asked. As I suspected, a new roof was not needed. He did suggest some repairs that will prolong the life of our roof for another 10 -15 years at a fraction of the cost of a new roof.Be careful when you are choosing a roofing company. If you want an honest assessment give Chris and DILS roofing a call.

Unfortunately, without blueprints the City required drilling holes in the roof to expose rafters, which would have voided the warranty on any future roof leaks. Therefore, solar had to be put on the back burner until a more feasible solution comes about.

Comment: Dil’s installed our roof for solar panels when we did an addition to our house about 12 years ago. The solar installers had the wrong standoffs so they corrected an error in a timely manner. During the work, it rained heavily before we were water tight. Early that morning the crew called and came to inspect. There was a leak but it was from stucco work. However they wanted to take the opportunity to check their work against the elements proactively. Every couple of years we call for an inspection and repair to insure our roof is sound. We believe strongly in preventive maintenance. They work with our calendar and explain all their recommendations in detail and offer options. We’re very pleased with their responsiveness, professional demeanor, and in-line prices. I’ve referred them to others without hesitation.

Comment: A Dils team repaired our roof leak and replaced some rain-damaged wood beneath the tile over the course of a week. We hardly knew they were here except for occasional hammering. Dil’s price was reasonable. Viewing the repaired roof area from across the street, there is no indication they were ever here. The repaired area blends in perfectly with the original tile. Upon their departure, the team left their work area on the ground cleaner than our gardener usually does. I can whole heartedly recommend Dils to you if you need any work done regarding your roof….

Comment: I hired Dils Roofing to perform a 2nd roof inspection on my home in San Marcos, CA when I made an offer on the property in Q1 2022. The home was built in 1990 and the roof clearly showed wear. I was impressed by the comprehensiveness and the thoroughness of the report compiled for me - it contained numerous pictures and explanations of what was observed. The roof inspection report provided a clear picture of the quality of the roof, the roofs remaining life and the likely investment required to repair the roof if I purchased the house. This report was a significant factor for helping me decide whether or not to make an offer on the house.After purchasing the home in February, I decided to have Dils perform the roof repair in July and Im so glad I did. Removing the tiled roof revealed water damage to the eaves that was not apparent during the visual inspection. Dils Roofing advised me during the inspection that this was a strong possibility given the age of the roof - so this was not a surprise. Dils Roofing kept me informed of the specific damage as it was discovered and discussed with me options and pricing for repairs. The roofing team did a phenomenal job in repairing all the damaged wood, relayed the concrete tile onto the roof - including replacing any broken tiles. Although not required, I chose to replace all the fascia boards on the home so as to have new lumber and to allow for proper placement of rain gutters. Dils was even able to accommodate my additional request to install dormer vents on the roof mid-project. Josh, Armando, and the onsite team were incredible to work with. Im so happy with the result and so are my neighbors! I highly recommend Dils roofing for your roofing needs!

We obtained proposals from 5 other prominent roofing companies to have our existing lightweight concrete tile removed and replaced with fiberglass shingles, we also had some flat areas reroofed with PVC roll roofing. DILS was very responsive, met all of our project requirements, was in line with other proposals we received, and were easy to work with from start to finish. Change orders for additional repairs were IAW the terms of the contract, and processed in a timely manner. DILS also worked well with our solar installer so the solar installation was seamless. We had a few minor follow-up issues with the skylight installation, but I simply placed a call to DILS, and they were on it and corrected the issue within a day. Comment: As President of my prior HOA, we had Dils do Spanish (S type) tile re-lay on four Spanish buildings. They did an excellent job.Before my tenure, they did PVC flat roof replacements on the same four buildings - all went well then too.Most recently, they completed a very complicated cement (flat) tile re-lay on my personal residence. They installed all new double 40lb modified underlayment, new flashings, some new tile, added additional attic venting (previously installed a huge commercial skylight), removed and reinstalled skylight, new drip edges, etc - all in all - a 5 week project and they had 4 men working every day. It couldnt have been done any quicker.Professionally,, I managed $2 billion in real estate ,throughout the Country, and dealt with many trades on $1+ million jobs.After working with Dils for the first time, I knew they were the only roofer I wanted to use. I didnt even want another bid for my residence. Why not? Well, it no different than finding a good mechanic for your car. Once you find that great mechanic, theres no need to go anywhere else. Theres a relationship based on trust and confidence. Theyll do the right job and the right price.Additionally, I like to say most people dont know what they are not getting. Contractors can cut corners or do inferior work and you may never know.I have a lot of construction experience and whenever I asked a question about the installation, they always were happy to answer it and their answers/methods were exactly how I hoped theyd answer - doing things correctly. They were doing the right thing, in every aspect of the job from the materials to the technical aspects of the installation.Every job can have a hiccup, callback or punch list item, but their customer service during and after the job was exceptional. Whenever I had a request, it was cheerfully, expeditiously and professionally handled.You wont have to run the job or worry about whether they will show up or not. They have many layers of supervision and quality control personnel that you have access to ensure the success of your job.There were change orders, because of items that could only be discovered once the job was underway, but the pricing was pre-determined and the work was needed. You should budget approximately 10% of any job for possible change orders. They photo documented everything during the job (needed work and completed work).There is absolutely nothing more I could have hoped for or asked for from Dils - and I am very meticulous.If you want a good experience and peace of mind consider Dils. They absolutely wont be the cheapest price, but Im not looking for that type of contractor).In the long run/big picture, they are worth every penny.

Comment: Hayden was amazing to work with from the initial inspection to scheduling to follow-up. Honestly, this is the first company in a long time that called me after the work was done and before the bill arrived to see how the job went and to ask if I had any questions or concerns. Dils was also 15% cheaper than the other two companies that bid the same repair job. Workers showed up on time on the day of the service and completed their work in a timely manner. Best of all, they cleaned up after themselves. I definitely enjoyed my experience with Dils Roofing.

Comment: My parents met in San Diego in 1990 and the only thing still in tact from their marriage is the roofing on their first house, thanks to Dils Roofing!! They are so thorough and I was surprised by how quickly and effective their work was in getting all the leaks and broken shingling taken care of. Ryan is very nice and such a pleasure to work with. Honestly, I wish I would need to work with them again soon but I think this roof will be good for another 30 years.

Comment: I had a great experience with Dils Roofing! Ryan from Dils came out to my house quickly to inspect my roof and took pictures to help explain the problem to me very clearly. He was patient and answered all of my questions and his bid was slightly better than the other 2 roofing companies I received an estimate from. It can be stressful when you are having work done on your roof, but I really appreciated Ryan and his team being so responsive and making me feel very comfortable during the whole process that I had nothing to worry about. They did an excellent job and sent me pictures of the work they did before and afterwards. They also cleaned up everything before the left. This is a great company, very organized and professional. They have been in business for over 35 years and I can definitely understand why with their excellent quality of work, customer service, and overall how they conduct their business. I would highly recommend Dils Roofing to anyone.

Comment: We needed a new roof as part of a solar installation project and so we got 3 quotes. The project was complicated by a redwood pergola that is attached to the roof. Ryan from Dils Roofing proactively discussed this issue and ultimately included the removal and professional reinstallation of the pergola in their quote, while none of the other roofers would address this as part of the project.Everything was done professionally and correctly according to a reasonable schedule. I highly recommend them!

Comment: Had to have my roof replaced this year with all the rain exposing several leaks. I researched companies and sought advisement and bids from five of them. All were close in price range. While Dils was not the cheapest, I chose Dils Roofing based on their responsiveness, completeness of items covered and materials in bid, overall reviews on several rating sites on final job performance and being fairly local to me. I was not disappointed. My job was scheduled within expectations and completed quickly as scheduled. The roofers conducted themselves professionally and performed quality work. Dils also worked with me to reduce some costs by repairing vs. replacing some wood. Overall, Im happy with results and would hire them again.

Comment: Dils Roofing workOur Roof has had a few leaks over the years and this last January when it rained hard for a couple of days, we had some serious leaks that required a pan to catch the water.We decided to install solar and it was necessary to ensure the roof would be ready, so we had the roof repaired and installed new underlayment in preparation for the solar projectThe roofing work was quoted (after an initial visit by the Owner, Ryan Dils) at a fair price (we obtained bids from 6 roofers) and all additional work for wood replacement was clearly communicated and justified. There was a fair amount of wood damage from water and termites that needed to be replaced. From what I can determine on my own without going up on the roof, all seems to be complete (the crew did a good job and were very diligent—Luis and his partner were great and their superintendent monitored the work). The roofing work was completed in a very detailed and thorough manner and I am happy with the end result. The owner, Ryan is very knowledge and was helpful throughout the entire project ensuring that work was initiated and completed on time and he personally communicated details with me via email and telephone as necessary .

Ryan was our project manager and communicated all aspects that needed to be done before, during and at the end. We had our 35 year old roof updated in 2017. The team was on time every day and cleaned up after themselves. After we inspected the work, there were a few issues that needed some attention and they returned immediately to address them.Now we are in the middle of selling the house and Ryan provided us another inspection so that the new owner can feel confident that the roof is very sound and has many years ahead. This is very important on my list when it comes to a company who will be there when you need them. This company has been around for years and will be around for many more. Comment: Ive had Dils Roofing handle repairs on our home since 1998. They are competitively priced, and the quality of work is a cut above any other roofer. In the three repairs theyve done, their crew is professional and courteous. A lot of repair guys skip and take shortcuts. Not Dils. They do it right the FIRST time, point out any concerns they come across, and even clean up after themselves. I highly recommend Brent Dils & his staff.
