And a person cannot order through Amazon but only through Big Mountain because the filter is a special design for Air Ranger output vent. Comment: UPDATE:The word for this update is accountability.Shortly after posting the review (that I didnt even think anyone would see), I was contacted by our design consultant, Johnny. I wasnt able to answer, but he left a message letting us know that, internally, the project had been reviewed and he wanted a chance to make things right. After speaking with my husband, we got back to Johnny and scheduled a meeting for later that afternoon.He came to our home, listened to our problems, validated our feelings, and assured us that, if given a chance, theyd make things right. We went through our grievances so that the situation(s) could be used as training opportunities and he took full responsibility. Respect!Big Mountain didnt have to reach out and contact us. They didnt have to try to rectify anything. But they did. At the end of the meeting, my husband and I felt heard and we were comfortable with the plan set in place going forward.Thank you Johnny, Gabby, Edwin, Armando, and Leo.***ORIGINAL TWO STAR REVIEW***In the beginning, Big Mountain was great. They were responsive and genuinely seemed to have our best interest at heart. The tech came out, did a diagnostic on our older unit, and made recommendations based on his findings. He recommended that our 18 year old unit be replaced and also indicated that ductwork needed to be done. Because we have a newborn, we were willing to do the work so that wed all be comfortable and have good air quality for the years to come. A design consultant was booked for later the same night and we got the ball rolling (they reel you in quick!)The design consultant was also pretty cool. He was personable and listened to our needs and budget. We decided to follow through and the install was booked for two days later.Heres where things start going downhill... $20k later.The same day that the unit was installed, the Nest displayed an error message. We sent the error message and a tech was dispatched out. The install guys failed to drain a pipe and a safety feature was being triggered to cut power.The following night, we were awoken by the newly installed smoke alarm around midnight. There was a burning smell coming from the furnace closet. We called Big Mountain the next morning and a tech came out to assess the issue. He wasnt able to find anything.A week later, the outdoor unit started making noise. Now, they didnt work on this unit originally per se, but they obviously had their hand in there to complete the work for the indoor unit. A tech came out and very matter of factly stated what the problem was. Hed already ran the numbers and had information on payments before even telling me what the problem was. Another $2800 to repair or $7000 to replace. This unit is 4 years old. I contacted the manufacturer and it was still under warranty, so we declined Big Mountains services.The day after they left, the outdoor compressor units fan was no longer spinning. Remember, the tech was out there the day before. Coincidence? Maybe. Wed never had any issues before.Decided to get a second opinion and come to find out, a wire in the INDOOR unit wasnt properly nestled where it needed to be so it wasnt communicating with the outdoor unit.The part that the tech said needed to be replaced isnt even used for the heater. Only the AC. Theres atmospheric rivers happening every week in Sac. We definitely hadnt been using the AC.All this to say... theyre very friendly and personable. However, I now have major used car salesman vibes and feel like I was duped by sleeze balls trying to make a/another sale.Fool me once, shame on me. Definitely wont get another chance though. Proceed with caution.

The technician, Carlos, was very professional and remembered me from a previous maintenance visit. All steps of the check-up were discussed with me, Carlos was thorough and explained that the system is fine and also offered some possible upgrades for safety and HVAC longevity, such as adding a surge suppressor in light of recent power outages. Comment: They broke a large branch from our apricot tree when backing into our driveway on the third day. I was not told about it, until my daughter saw it when she left. When asked about it, there only response was we can cut it off. They left debris at the site and two of the three crawl space covers were damaged; one had a hole and the other was forced back into place, bending it and leaving an opening for critters. The foreman, Robert, was completely unprofessional. If you are going to use them for service, I would ask for a different person. His crew was fine but management and respect for property is severely lacking. Two stars for Robert.I am upgrading my rating to four stars, because Ben helped resolve some of the issues. He was respectful and understanding. I do think that some of their staff need additional training to ensure that their company is following their stated goal One of our main priorities is to respect and protect your home. My expectation when I have work done on my home is that it is left in the same or better condition. It was not in this case.

We had reset the breaker and it came back on.Several probable causes were discovered and we decided to have it replaced. We also learned it was undersized and improperly installed. Everyone at Big Mountain is exceptional - from our service technician Leo Ballesteros who was onsite late into the evening, to Johnny Champagne who has been instrumental in guiding us through the replacement process to Robert Santillan whose install crew went above and beyond to get our new system purring along. We had a few of the ducts replaced as part of the install process because they were inoperable. They will be back in the fall to replace the rest. We could not have had a better experience and recommend this company - great people, warranty, products and customer service.

Comment: Very competent company from Randy’s systems analysis of the proper A/C and heating system to meet needed requirements to the competent installation crew under Robert that successfully installed the systems to our satisfaction. Carlos “tweeted” the system by adding refrigerant and cooling the house further down to keep the actual temperature exactly the same as the set point even with almost 100 deg temperatures outside. Also tied the upstairs bedroom vent to the upstairs control to put both vents on the upstairs zone, cooling down the bedroom to the right set point temperatures. We were very satisfied with Carlos and will request him to return for regular maintenance.

Only company that put us on their route bc our hvac system is only 2 years old (new build home). Big Mountain was able to send a tech out to service my a/c the same day. Trying to get a quote without having to pay an upfront fee was almost impossible, but not with Big Mountain. They scheduled me quickly, answered all my questions and were instrumental in helping me get the replacement unit financed.19 Jul 2021 - Our new ac unit had a couple of factory defects. Dave and Andre were instrumental in getting the problems solved. Dave came up on his day off and on the weekend to get the system back up with a temp fix and sent Andre on Monday to accomplish a final fix, however it’s was discovered that another major component was ado defective. Andre went above and beyond to get me up and running. Instead of ordering the exact replacement part and coming back at a later date he was able to modify with a higher quality component making sure we had ac before he left. I cannot say how happy we are with them and Big Mountain. There are times when things happen out of anyone’s control but this company is highly focused in providing the best customer service possible.

I actually ended up getting a LIVE person at time! Couldn’t believe it. They walked me through the process, and got someone to my house the very next day.The gentleman by the name of Roger was absolutely amazing. He actually spend 2 hours after his shift was over to really look into my unit and find a way to get it back up and running. His supervisor came by to assist, and they both were able to get my AC unit back up and running. The supervisor was also AMAZING, super cool lady... She helped me out, and discussed all avenues to improve my AC unit being that it was 13 years old. She has over 22 years as an AC repair supervisor so I def took to consideration her advise.I would highly recommend this company to anyone with AC issues or problems. Comment: I originally found big Mountain heating and air from a commercial I saw on TV. I called to get an AC rejuvenation special. After which I started doing some research online and happen to come upon some bad reviews on yelp. I decided to send them a message and let them know that I did not want to use their service based on what I had read. Within a couple hours I was called by someone I can only assume was either the owner or manager they asked if I could share some of those reviews that I had read. They were incredibly professional and very interested in earning my business so much so that they offered to come out and do the rejuvenation at no cost to me or my wife so that I could experience the service firsthand at no cost. When the technician arrived he was incredibly professional and did an absolute fantastic job there was no pressure he made recommendations and everything was done at no cost. I would highly recommend doing your research but also realizing that sites like Yelp or not always perfect. Having them come out was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a very long time and they have definitely earned a customer for life.

Comment: First of all been in the office was very helpful thorough and clear and was excellent and following up. Edwin my technician was friendly punctual hard-working dress professional friendly courteous and thorough in his explanation. He also went to great links to cover his shoes and protect our carpet in the inside of our house. I didn’t think there was anything wrong with our system but he explained any tiny does on the blower was a serious issue and our blower was leaking oil very slightly I would’ve never noticed it but he did. I highly recommend this company and they’re two for one special is amazing. They will try to get you to become a gold member after that because they want you to be a regular customer. I say do it I ended up doing it! What did Renee find me was it’s like having your car tuned up if you don’t have your system worked on for maintenance every six months eventually major pet repairs will accumulate. It’s better to stay up with it as you go and you can save the expense of having to replace some major components at a later date. I figure $157 a year is worth it to avoid major repairs and keep the system working efficiently so our bill is lower.Our gas bill was approximately $100 per month and our electric would get as high as 250 from PG&E in July and January. I’m looking forward to seeing if these two knobs end up saving his 20 or $30 a month which will pay for the maintenance costs and hopefully help us avoid any major repairs to the system. I highly recommend big mountain air in there working hard to earn peoples trust

Then I received a photo of my technician and a link to track when he would be at my home. Josh was professional, knowledgable, clean cut and efficient. Comment: So we had our A/C unit fixed last year, by another company, and it worked for a few months but broke down again this year (2019). First time calling Big Mountain Heating & Air and the technician they brought out, Kenny, was great! He was very professional, courteous, and he knew his stuff as we asked him questions. My wife and I were blown away at how honest he was and didnt beat around the bush when he showed us the reason why our A/C unit didnt operate. He showed me the problem and there was a shortage that happened between the wires and modules in the picture provided that caused a small fire. He was honest and told us that our unit is no longer viable because we would be putting in money that may not even solve the problem like it did the last time. We gave our budget and he wrote up an estimate and answered any questions we had with ease. We did not sign off on the new unit that day but we will definitely keep Big Mountain Heating & Air in mind when the time comes just because of Kenny.
