As a facility manager, their crew showed up on time, very courteous, competent... knew the language of the roofing industry to explain to you: the customer, as though you are a novice but with respect... was able to watch the multi layered materials being applied... seams were very tight and aligned, roof pitching was detailed towards the drain... so water wouldnt pool in flat spots, the flashing extended away from my roofline to the edging of my home to eliminate water from being drawn towards the wood... which in many cases leads to rotting... clean up was performed as they moved from one task to another... complete teardown and build up of my flat roof done in days time!!! As you can tell with this review - I would highly recommend Ace Roofing to those seeking to have their roof repaired or in my case completely replaced... Oh - biggest point... very reasonable pricing... you can look and search for those cheap-o-depot roofing companies... and that is exactly what youll get... NOT ACE ROFFING... Quality, quality and quality...

Comment: John is an intelligent and quirky guy who really knows home building which is important in installing and repairing anything because it can impact other areas of your home. He inspected from the roof down and even the home perimeter for roots and brush tips.Ace has a very knowledgeable crew with various specialties.In fixing my roof, attention was paid to dry rot, flashing edges, rain gutters, windows, sky lights, rain spouts, and their run off. I learned so much walking with him during inspections. Ace did a good job on the roof, neat and with clean up, they also took more debris than was theirs. John came at many times during the work, checking the work and tweaking up details or anything I had issue with. I am very happy with the professionalism and quality of the job and gong the extra mile to satisfaction.

Comment: When I searched (a bit desperately) for a reputable company to take a small, challenging job (roofing a 3.5 x 12 shed recently built beneath an existing wood deck, with limited access/clearance) - the only company willing to even consider the work was Ace SF Roofing. John came to evaluate the project carefully before committing - at a VERY reasonable price - and in less than a week a two-person crew came (on time, as scheduled) and roofed the shed professionally (including a penetration and all material to route a gutter downpipe through the the shed, all needed flashing, gravel stop and trim).John (manager? estimator? owner? - he sure takes responsibility for things) called back a couple days later to proactively suggest they come back to seal down one tricky detail (no cost) - now and/or a year from now if needed!Plus, all of the five people I met who touched this short, efficient project across three visits (evaluation, main job, follow-up) were considerate, friendly and anxious to please the customer.Wow.

When they came to assess the scope - and see the leaks into the house from the skylights I expected them to advise that I had to install new skylights, but they were honest and told me the issue was in the seal of the roof the skylight and the skylights were in fact fine. They proceeded with repairs and some time has passed and I have not experienced any leaks, from the roof or the skylights. Will call Ace Roofing when time comes to replace my roof and if there are other issues that arise in the interim.

Comment: My gutter of my flat roof leaked several years ago. A contractor fixed it and it was good for a year or two. Then it leaked again. the contractor came back to fix it on warranty but it leaked a year later. The contractor came back again but could not do anything.I tried to hire another contractor. Most people did not even want to give an estimate after examining it. Some gave a very high bid. They said it was a TPO roof and the previous contractor did a bad job.John came and gave me a very reasonable quote. His workers came and finished the job in a day. The job looked well done. It has been over a year and had no leak.John is very experienced and knows what he is doing. But the thing John impressed me the most is his honesty and trustworthy. You feel confident that he will do a good job and you wont be taken.

I originally called John many years ago to help me with an emergency leak and chimney replacement during a huge storm and they came to my rescue the same day. Recently I looked at my roof and knew it needed some attention, so I gave them a call again. I was able to set up an appointment in a couple of days and was informed that I only needed some minor patching and a new coat of protectant. He never upsold me and was frank about the repair work. He gave me a detailed quote and contract and provided pictures throughout the project and I was very impressed with their professionalism.Fast forward a couple weeks, I recommended my parents to him for their roofing work. They had an older roof, so John provided them with a couple options whether to perform minor work and extend the life of the roof or do a complete overhaul. He gave my parents the pros and cons for both situations and surprised to hear that he recommended repair work instead because he preferred to fully wear out the materials before its replaced.ACE Roofing Company, especially John, James and Steve are an honest group, provide great workmanship, and excellent to work with. I highly recommend them!

Comment: Ace Roofing is aces in my book! They oversaw the addition of a legal, permitted third-story addition to our 19th century San Francisco Victorian. Wow! What a complex job this was, including shoring up the foundation in order to support the addition of a 480-square foot studio, deck and new roof. John Chon, one of the owners, worked with us and other contractors every step of the way to bring to life our vision of extra, modern space that is up to SFs exacting building codes. John not only delivered the project on time, he was able to provide us with many extras as the project opened up our building to new possibilities -- all within budget. John is proud of his work, and stops by at least twice a year to check that everything remains in working order. Whenever we have a question about our building, we call Ace first -- they are honest and make excellent recommendations if the work is beyond their scope (which is wide-ranging -- a roof is more than just the top of your house!)
